I teach in a middle school (grades 6-8) that is located in a suburb just outside of Chicago, Illinois. It is an extremely diverse middle school that serves over 900 students from various racial, socioeconomic, academic, and familial backgrounds. I teach seventh grade language arts. Although their abilities and experiences vary greatly, they are impressionable and hungry for an education that is genuine, (appropriately) rigorous, and meaningful. As their teacher and advocate, my goal is to help them be even more passionate, excited, globally aware, and compassionate learners, thinkers, and doers!
