  • Super Charge Our Classroom

    Funded Feb 15, 2025

Thank you so much for your generosity! I am so excited to use these in our classroom! They are going to be so excited for these too! This is going to help my students so much! This will also free up so much more time for me to teach as well. Your donation is greatly appreciated!”

  • Reading, Writing, And Games! Oh My!

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

I wanted to let you know how the materials you helped to provide are being used in my classroom so far. First off the crayon sharpener was such a big hit! I didn't even realize how much students would love it. They beg for me to sharpen their crayons. This also has helped their coloring skills so much more than I anticipated! They take their time more and try to stay in the lines much better than before. Also, the whisper phones were a quick favorite. The students were amazed by them and it helps them to really hear how they read. One of my quieter students even said "I read quietly so I don't hear myself a lot but when I use these I can hear myself and it's so much louder!" Thank you again for helping me to make my students' learning the best it can be!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Easley

  • Tonie Time!

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

I just wanted to let you know how the Tonie boxes have been in my classroom over the last few months. First I want to tell you how excited my students were for these items. They were thrilled to have these added to our classroom. Each morning when students come in they are able to choose a morning activity and the Tonie boxes have become a quick favorite! For station time it is also one they look forward to the most throughout the week.

They love listening to the Pete the Cat Tonie, Story Bots, and The Gruffalo the most. These are usually the ones chosen first. These boxes have created such a fun way for students to engage in books. Your donation truly has meant so much to my students this year! I can't thank you enough.”

  • Printing All of the Things

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity to my students this year. Having a printer that is capable of printing on cardstock has made making games for my students so much better. These games are ones that will last for years to come and are able to withstand all of the use that gets put into them. I am able to provide so many different ways for my students to interact with lessons and have materials that they enjoy using. Each morning we have morning tubs that are full of games that I have printed that go with the different months. This has been a favorite activity all year because of your help with providing our classroom a printer. Thank you so much! It truly means so much to not only me but my class of first graders as well!”

  • Rolling Into Reading

    Funded Jul 5, 2022

Thank you so much for giving to our classroom this year! Because of your generosity my first-graders were able to make an easier switch to a departmentalized classroom. They are able to find everything they need for their learning because of the organization I was able to implement from using the rolling drawers. They can easily find the materials they need and know where to put everything back when they are finished. It has made the classroom run so much smoother and does not cause a lot of time to be wasted. Thank you so much for investing into our classroom! You have truly improved my students' experience in a first grade classroom.”

  • A Comfy, Organized Library For Mrs. E's Explorers

    Funded May 8, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. We have not been able to use these resources yet because our district has been fully virtual this year. However, I can't wait to be able to use them soon! I know my students are going to love these new and exciting activities and will also love reading on the super, soft rug. Since my classroom is themed for camping, the green rug will go in front of our reading tent so students will feel like they are reading outdoors in the grass but in the comfort of our classroom! I truly cannot thank you enough for your contribution to my class. It really does make a difference in the lives of my students.”

  • Mrs. Easley's Explorers Exploring the World Through Books

    Funded Mar 6, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation to help us get books for our classroom library! We received these a week before our school closed for spring break and then for the rest of the year. Although my students were only able to read these books for a short amount of time, they brought so much joy in the time that they did get to read them. They were the first ones picked during library time and were the ones the students begged for me to read during story time.

This class was filled with the majority of boys, so with your donations I was able to get a whole collection of superhero and Star Wars books. They were a big hit! The girls were really excited about the book "Love, Z" (a book about a robot), and they loved the Disney princess collection as well.

Since beginning our distance learning, I have been able to read some of the books to my students through the help of technology. A favorite in particular of mine and my students is the book "The Serious Goose" by Jimmy Kimmel. When I read that book a parent told me that her family "loved it." So although the end of the year does not look how I expected it would, your donation has made an impact even still today during this time. The books will continue to make an impact with my students in the years to come as well, and for that I cannot thank you enough. Your donation has truly made such as big difference!”

    Mrs. Easley

  • Keep Calm and Read

    Funded Sep 20, 2019

I cannot begin to thank you enough for your donation to my classroom this year. Although the ending to this year was not what any of us were expecting, your donations helped create memories and advance student learning during the time we had together. You helped to create a calm environment for my students with the fluorescent light coverings that created a classroom that felt like home. My students were also able to use the clipboards throughout the year to do many different activities like "writing the room," where they could walk around the room and find words that were hidden throughout it with the phonics skill for that week. The flashlights were a big hit on Flashlight Fridays. On that day, I turned out all of the lights and closed the blinds to create a dark classroom. Students could find a place anywhere in the room to read a book with their own flashlight. They begged for this on Fridays. They also helped my students to become "detectives" and search for clues to solve the cases.

The books you provided for my class were constantly being read. They were the ones that students could choose on their particular reading level and keep at their seat for the week. These quickly became favorites for students, especially my beginning readers. They could pick up a book and read it on their own and were so proud of what they were able to do. These are just a few of the things that you helped to do this year, and I cannot honestly thank you enough. These items made such an impact on me as a teacher and on my students.”

  • Mrs. Easley's Explorers Explore With Technology

    Funded Dec 22, 2018

Thank you again for your support of my classroom this year. Our class has loved getting to explore with the iPad you helped to purchase. My students have been able to play many educational games this year that have kept them engaged and aiding with their learning. They have been able to use the iPad in small group as well with different activities that they love! This has not only helped the students but myself as well. I am able to use the iPad and project different activities on it to the Smart Board in my classroom. This has opened up so many different apps that can be used during whole group instruction. I cannot thank you enough for your support of my classroom and the education of my students.”

  • Fire Up Our Learning With Kindle Fires

    Funded Aug 27, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation. Just a little update how your donations have helped our classroom. Having the Kindles has helped to ensure that each student is able to use technology daily in the classroom. I have a limited number of computers, so having the "tablets" has been a great resource.

The students also love them! I use them during our different center times. Students can do many different reading and math apps on the Kindles. It is always the first center to fill up. On Fridays we have "Fun Fridays," and students are able to choose any of the apps to play educational games and read many different books that they aren't able to do during the week. This is a great incentive for students to complete their work during the week, so they can participate in "Fun Friday."

Also, one of my students has very poor fine motor skills, so using a computer is very difficult for him to use a mouse. Having the Kindles has helped him so much, and he doesn't get frustrated anymore when it is time to use technology since it is a touch screen. These have made such a big difference in his life, and in the lives of my students! They have such a love for reading, and I am sure these have something to do with it. The tablets make reading more engaging for students that are more drawn to technology. They have been wonderful! I cannot thank you enough!”

I have a classroom full of 22 eager to learn first graders, and they are the most amazing group of kids. They come to school excited about the day and ready to work hard and learn a lot. They have a variety of different interests and all love story time. The first thing they do when they come to class is look at the story books I have set out to read for that day. They love books and the classroom library! My classroom is also full of students whose families speak only Spanish at home. That is why hearing stories read-aloud helps my students so much. It helps build fluency in young readers, especially ESL. My school is a high poverty school in Memphis, TN. Our school is also a very large school, and even though it is large the students still feel that it is their home and they are welcomed there. We want it to be a high learning environment and want these students to have every opportunity available to them.
