  • STEM and Art - the Best!

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

We are really enjoying our new Cricut machine. The kids have begun to learn about what it capable and are now creating more then just card. They really like making stencils to use in our painting, drawing, and collaging units. I showed my seniors how they will be able to decorate their graduation caps with vinyl, card stock, and the use of the Cricut machine and many have already starting to design their caps! The machine is creating learning moment for my students that are collaborative in nature, involve complex problem solving while developing new, and productive hobbies for my students. It really fun to watch young people enjoy and experience new, productive hobbies. As always, thank you.”

  • Culinary Club Toys

    Funded Jan 18, 2025

We are very excited about the Ninja Creami and hand blender. We have already made high protein, low fat vanilla based ice-cream where we first blended strawberries. We steeped mint we grew on our farm and crated a simple syrup that we used to sweeten the mix before freezing, and let me tell you, it was a hit! So yummy and filling, and not a lot of calories. After that we did a similar recipe, but with pineapple and our home grown cilantro. Next up, we will be trying a green smoothie, frozen yogurt and cant wait to keep exploring with these new toys and tools. Thank you so much!”

We are really very grateful for these items. I have so many young artist that love to build and incorporate STEM into our art projects. Many of my art students excel in 3d work and its a real joy to watch them build during our sculpture units. This unit requires a lot of problem solving, group work, and reflection, and all student learn about the capabilities feel a real sense of pride. I am truly grateful for your generosity. Because of donors like yourself, my art room has been transformed into an incredible maker space. We are very appreciative.”

  • Glowforge Laser Cutter for Crafts, Happiness, and More!

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

Oh, wow! We finally got the machine hooked up and ready to go. Students are designing products and decor to fundraise and celebrate graduation. Students are learning about design, inventory, production, while enjoying a new tool for the art room. The conversations and excitement around the possibilities of the Glowforge has been fun. The kids are eager to research and watch tutorials to learn more. They seem really engaged and self inspired. It has provided a new energy and enthusiasm in the studio space .”

  • Paint Our Feelings, Paint Our Joys

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

We love to paint in the art room. I see it has a healing, therapeutic art technique for my art students and we are incredibly grateful for your donations. Watercolors are used for neurographica, experimentation, landscape work, coloring pages, and visual journals and the paint pens give my art students more control when doing text, fine lines, and detail. It helps them relax and enjoy the process. I am very appreciative that you chose my students and art room during your time of generosity. My students honor our art space as time in their day to find joy, peace, and calmness. Your kindness to not only providing them with high quality materials, which they clearly deserve, but also helping me feel worthy, raise their self-esteem and feel important. Thank you”

  • Clean Our Space for Calm

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

Thank you for you kind donation towards my art room. Non-toxic cleaning supplies are so important around young people. Additionally, my room does not have window, so we have no way of ventilating the space! My students are more then happy to participate in studio clean-up and maintain the space and the art tools, and I am very appreciate to offer them products that do not contain chemicals and also give them disposable gloves to protect their hands. These seems like a simple thing, but these are extremely helpful for the art room.”

Thank you for your generous donation to my project for beautiful pens, markers, and watercolors. In our art class, we explore writing and text work in our projects to express emotions, ideas, messages, and as a healing practice. Because of your kindness, I am able to be generous towards my students and witness their joy and happiness in their use of high quality materials. It truly is a magical gift that you and Donorchoose give me and so many young people. Your donations positively impact the lives of so many teenagers, not only in their art making, but in their spirit and self worth. It is quite special. Thank you for thinking about my students and allowing me to have these wonderful moments with them.”

  • Magic(ally) Model our Emotions

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

We absolutely love model magic. We use it for stand-alone projects exploring form and 3d work, to art therapy projects that allow kiddos to express their feelings through 'emotions monsters' and use model magic to add details to our sculptural projects. It is lightweight, air drying. Model magic accepts glue, paint, and markers, so artists have limitless potential to add to their artwork. It is a great material that add to our art room and makes my art students very happy. They were over joyed when they saw the boxes and even more happy to begin their work with it. Photos to come soon!”

  • Pretty Period, Please

    Funded Sep 9, 2024

This project is so important and basic. These items are extremely expensive and create a financial burden in many young people. Having them in the art room creates ease of mind for my students and well as providing them with the supplies when thy find themselves caught off guard and in an uncomfortable situation. They always say thank you and openly are appreciative to the donors and the organization of donorschoose.org that there are strangers looking out for them. I discuss the concept of "paying it forward" knowing that they will positively impact others in the future.”

  • Craft Our Joy

    Funded Aug 12, 2024

We love our craft items! I find more and more that young people these days are eager for productive, creative hobbies and find real joy with these items. So many students have these skills and enjoy teaching each other how to crochet, quill, use fancy pens, write cursive, and write in calligraphy. It is fun to witness them empowered and feel pride in knowing a skill that their peers want to learn. Art techniques and formal training is important in the art room, but finding space for crafts has been rewarding.”
