Funded Jul 20, 2021This project is so super fun. These paint pens are so handy and come in clutch for so many projects. Art students use them when doodling, journaling, adding detail to paintings and we even use them during our Senior Legacy Mural projects. They are smooth and glide over paper, canvas and our walls so nicely that they create so much joy in my young artists. They love opening them, smelling them and using them. My art students understand the value of their supplies and really appreciate the kindness of strangers from Donorschoose.”

Funded Jul 20, 2021These sketchbooks are going to make an amazing welcome back gift for my art students! They will be so happy to receive them as they transition back. This Fall will be quite different than years past, full of extra anxiety. These sketchbooks will help ease the transition and create joy. My art students will have a special place for sketches, ideas, journaling, and record keeping. When they are made aware that strangers believed in their potential enough to donate to their art experiences, they are more eager and motivated to create. We are extremely appreciative. Funded May 24, 2021Thank you for your donation towards my projects. These items will add to our ever growing crafts area in the art room. I try to provide many art making options and maker space areas in the art room to engage all art interests and needs. I find that fun, accessible art supplies really speak to the interests of my teenage art students. There are times when they are highly focused on high level art making and techniques, and other times, enjoy the peace and pleasure of crafting with some fun stuff! Students often combine their own techniques to have unique art making experiences and create original work. I will gladly share pictures as we settle back to in person learning in the Fall. Thank you so much! This will be an important year.”

Pride in Penmanship
Funded Apr 24, 2021This project has already been a hit! I shared the writing notebooks and pens with the few students in the school. They took to cursive writing immediately. After a few frustrating starts, but with gentle guidance, the kiddos were quietly practicing and seemed to really enjoy. They were surprised when class was over. Because of this positive response, we decided to practice for the rest of the week. I will be sharing some supplies for my students to take home to enjoy and share with their household. We spoke about the meditative impact of writing. The workbooks were specifically chosen for the positive affirmations, so as they are writing, they are thinking good thoughts! This is so fun, thank you for funded this special project.”

Funded Apr 22, 2021I am so excited for this project. As I mentioned in the proposal, offering tea to kiddos that need a little extra care is a simple gesture, yet very impactful. For students to have a caring adult offer them a source of comfort, in the form of substance with a warm cup of tea, but also to be nurtured in the process. Warming up the tea, selecting a yummy flavor, then being served, is an interaction of love and support. Students need to feel huma, seen and encouraged. Tea time is a moment and a strategy to nourish the body, while slowing down to reflect and deal with life's complications. It also teaches youngsters that we can take the time to care for others. They can learn to prepare and make tea for others as a action of care and empathy. Its is ok to do for others, it is not a weakness, but a sign of strength and thoughtfulness. Something we all need sometimes!”

Funded Apr 1, 2021I am writing in appreciation for your generous donation to fund my project for basic office supplies. These materials help to create an efficient, working art room and assist in completing logistical needs of a classroom, especially the art room. This space is a common room, where many students and staff conjugate to create, to talk, and fulfill needs of the larger school community and these office supplies will be used for a lot of the school needs. The laminator will keep many of our resources safe and reusable, the hole-puncher is necessary for our homemade sketchbooks, and the paper cutters will make quick work of paper cutting needs. I am extremely grateful knowing we have these supplies, and has helped to lighten some anxiety in opening back up, so thank you for lifting a weight as you provided needed tools for the art room!”

Teachers can create visually appealing and exciting bulletin boards that adorn the building. the machine is really fun, and super cool. Kiddos get excited to learn how to use it and then feel comfortable teaching each other. Their presentations improve, their focus and motivation increase as well. They see the possibilities. Funded Dec 15, 2020Thank you for your generosity and kindness towards my students and the art room. This water filtration system will supply numerous students and staff with cold, filtered water when we return to school. It is now more important then ever to have this access. We will be able to refill our own water bottles and not have to drink from a shared community water fountain. This will be a more sanitized and safer way to stay hydrated. We all know how important water is and how devastating dehydration can be, especially to teenagers. I can cause crankiness, fatigue, and even hunger. I am very appreciative that in these tough times, you thought of my students. Thank you again!
Be safe”
