Funded Jan 27, 2022Thank you so much for donating to our project! You really have helped to make a difference in my students' lives. My students have learned so many foundational skills thanks to these books. They practice sight words, cvc words, fluency, reading comprehension and letter names and sounds.
Thanks to you, our classroom library is filled with many different books for all reading levels! Our classroom library is so colorful and full of life! Students love to go book shopping and reading during our reading workshop.
For many of my students, this was their first time being in a classroom setting. I made it my goal to make a nurturing, safe, and welcoming environment for my students this year and thanks to you all of this was possible. I'm sure that my students next year will love these books and our classroom library as much as this class. Thanks for helping my students grow and learn this school year! It's very much appreciated!”

Improving Students' Lives: One Classroom Supply at a Time
Funded Feb 13, 2018The resources we received from Donors Choose have been SO helpful to my students and me in many ways. My students are very good writers, they LOVE writing! Getting pencils and the electronic pencil sharpener has been life changing and very helpful because they used to spend so much time sharpening their pencils instead of writing, now they are able to spend more time writing than sharpening pencils. Another thing that has been very helpful is the dry erase pockets. Students use the dry erase pockets for many things, but especially to practice math problems. Each student has their own needs I group them based on what they need the most help in math. The colorful dry erase pockets have been so helpful for my students to practice the math skill they are having trouble with to become experts in math.
I cannot express in words the happiness and EXCITEMENT that my students felt when we first open the boxes to see the new materials for the classroom. They were so excited and eager to start using them right away. I opened the box one by one and showed them everything and they were so grateful and excited. I can honestly say that my students have been so much more engaged in lessons and more eager to learn because of the materials. They feel so proud and happy when they use the hallway passes, or when they use the electronic sharpener, or the dry erase pockets and markers. They LOVE the colorful charts that I make and the colorful handouts. Differentiation in my classroom runs so much more smooth and targets every single student need.
All the resources my students and I received from donors choose have been life changing and have helped my students grow and learn everyday. Next, I would like to do a project to buy books in English and Spanish for our classroom library. My students love reading and they love learning new things from their books. It will be amazing to get more books in both languages to feed their minds and help them learn new things everyday.”
