Research shows early intervention is key to having a successful academic, personal, and social life. Teaching an early childhood special education classroom, I see that all of my students need extensive support in all domains that compose early childhood education. The items have a focus on closing the gaps in all domains addressed in the Pre Kindergarten and Early Childhood guidelines. The materials I ask for are engaging, colorful items that motivate and make learning accessible for all students regardless of disability. Magnetic math rods will help my students with skills such as sorting, and counting. Moods and emotions puzzle set will help my students with fine motor skills and social skills. Big knob puzzle set will help my students, who have trouble grasping small items, begging to work on their fine motor skills. Trace and write alphabet letters will help my students begin to legibly write letters. The Mad Mattr in varying colors will help build small muscle grasp in their hands to work on fine motor skills: With these materials, my students will acquire early literacy and math, fine and gross motors skills, as well as personal social skills.
