  • Puzzles, and Books, and Timers, Oh My!

    Thank you for supporting me and, more importantly, my students! My coteacher, Mr. Ron, and I are excited to have the opportunity to give our wonderful students these new materials. The puzzles will bring hours of fun while they work on their spatial reasoning and problem solving skills. The books and stuffed animals will make literacy fun and engaging as they use the animals to act out familiar stories. These and more are possible thanks to your generosity and we appreciate it so much!”

  • To Market, To Market

    Funded May 4, 2021

    The Pretend Play Market and RealWorking Cash Register have been a great addition to my classroom's dramatic play center. Students use them every day to pretend to sell groceries, run a restaurant, or even use it as the front desk of a vet's office during the pets study.

    When I introduced these materials the initial reaction was to press every button on the cash register. They love that the buttons really work and enjoy using play money with it to pretend to sell whatever their imagination comes up with today. The register and the market stall, which it sits on, remain one of the most popular spots in the classroom each day.

    My students and I are so grateful to everyone who donated to help us add these amazing materials to our classroom.”

  • Help Us Learn While Social Distancing

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

    Thank you so much for your support in making it possible for us to get these materials for our students. The play dough tools have made it possible for each student to have their own supply of play dough and tools so that we don't need to worry about the sharing of germs. The activity mats provide a multitude of options for indoor and outdoor gross motor play, especially when combined with other materials from our classroom to create an obstacle course! The butcher paper and convenient holder/ cutter have opened up exciting art opportunities like learning about action painting!

  • To Dramatic Play and Beyond!

    Thank you for your generous contributions, which have made it possible for us to purchase the Help-Yourself Dress-Up Center, as well as the baskets which fit neatly into its shelves. Our students were so excited when they saw this brand new piece of furniture in our classroom, they couldn't wait for playtime so they could see what it had to offer.

    We are using the Help-Yourself Dress-Up Center in our dramatic play area to organize our dress up clothes and accessories. This has made a big difference in the atmosphere of our dramatic play area. This item replaced a much larger piece of furniture which was not appropriate for the small space. Now with the Help-Yourself Dress-Up Center the dramatic play area feels more spacious and organized. The students are able to easily hang their own dress up clothes when they are finished using them. With the help of pictures they also sort their hats, blankets, and other dress up accessories into the baskets and lower shelf space.

    With the school year in full swing our students have settled nicely into the daily routine and are ready to take on some new challenges. We will be working on letter recognition, math skills, and exploring the world around us as the seasons change and bring exciting opportunities. We look forward to future opportunities to share a bit of our classroom with you.”

The materials I am asking for will go in our dramatic play center. Currently, the dramatic play center is an inviting center with lots of potential for play and learning. However, the piece of furniture currently in place for students to hang their costumes in is much too big for the space. With this smaller shelving unit to hang their costumes, my students will be able to organize the dramatic play area independently. With a place for everything, everything can go in its place, while keeping the center open for imaginative play to occur rather than too much space being taken up by the furniture.
