  • Unlocking Word Secrets: The Magic of Morphological Awareness

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I want to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous support in providing the funds to purchase several teacher's manuals to implement Morpheme Magic. This invaluable resource is a game-changer for helping students understand morphology, enabling them to tackle longer words with confidence and decode word meanings based on prefixes and suffixes.

Thanks to donors like you, we are able to equip our students with the tools they need to become stronger readers and thinkers. I truly couldn't have done it without your support, and I know it will have a lasting impact on their learning journey.”

    With gratitude,

    Funded Jan 23, 2025

On behalf of our students, I would like to express our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation that allowed us to purchase copies of The Hero Two Doors Down. Your gift will provide our students with the opportunity to read and explore this inspiring story, and engage in meaningful discussions with their pen pals.

The chance to connect through reading and sharing perspectives is a truly valuable experience, and we are excited to see how this book will spark conversation and foster connections among our students.

Thank you once again for your kindness and support. Your contribution is making a lasting impact!”

  • Making Learning Stick with Magnetic Letters

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

Thank you for your generous support of my students and their education! Your donation allowed me to purchase magnetic letters and boards for all of our kindergarten students. These materials allow our students to participate in phonics lessons in a hands on manner.

Having the manipulative letters allows our kindergarten students to practice spelling and reading words without the extra task of writing the letters. This enables our students to focus on the letters and their sounds as they sound out words to spell them correctly, or to look at words and decode the individual sounds in order to read them. Students then practice actually writing the words with pencil later in the lessons. Your contribution helps to give our students multiple ways of building their phonics knowledge so that we are creating solid foundational skills.

Thank you for supporting our students and their learning. The students were overjoyed to receive these materials and it has made learning to read and spell a lot of fun for them.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gingrich

  • We Fly With Ufli! (Part 2)

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation! We were able to purchase UFLI Teacher's Manuals to get us started with the UFLI phonics program. UFLI builds teachers' knowledge of the science of reading, while engaging students in explicit and systematic phonics instruction.

I have 12 teachers in kindergarten through third grade teaching phonics with UFLI this school year. This helps ensure that we meet our district's mission of all students reading on grade level by third grade. These manuals and the instructional practices that teachers use also mean that our teachers are ahead of the curve when it comes to using evidenced based literacy instruction built around the science of reading. New state mandates will require these types of programs next school year.

Thank you for helping to ensure that my teachers are building their background knowledge and instructional practices while also strengthening our students' foundational reading skills!”

Thank you so much for your generous donation! We were able to purchase UFLI Teacher's Manuals to get us started with the UFLI phonics program. UFLI builds teachers' knowledge of the science of reading, while engaging students in explicit and systematic phonics instruction.

I have 9 teachers in kindergarten through second grade teaching phonics with UFLI this school year. This helps ensure that we meet our district's mission of all students reading on grade level by third grade. • Cooks & Books: Celebrating Math and Reading

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you for your donations that allowed use to purchase cook books to use as prizes during our Cooks and Books event. We did not want this to be an event that only occurs as school but wanted to help students carry what they learned at the event to their home lives. Students were ecstatic to win cook books so that they can try new recipes at home.

After the excitement of using recipes to create a dessert during our event, we are thrilled to know that students can continue building on this excitement at home. We ordered a variety of cookbooks from dinner ideas to desserts, to very basic recipes for young kids. Not only will the recipes get kids trying new foods but they will get kids reading and using their math skills in meaningful ways. Thank you for helping us provide these opportunities for our students!”

  • Cooking Up a Love of Learning

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your support of my project that allowed our school to hold a Cooks and Books event to celebrate Math and Literacy. Your donations helped us purchase materials such as cutting boards, plastic knives, whisks, and bowls that we will be able to use for future events as well. Students were so excited to be able to use these materials to make a delicious dessert based on a story that was read aloud to them.

Students in K - 2 made a strawberry-mango salsa and students in grade 3 - 5 made banana pudding. Students had to follow a recipe card to read instructions and measure ingredients. It was a blast watching them figure out what they needed to do and to see the parents jump in and participate with their children.

We cannot wait to use these materials again at the end of our current school year. We a busy considering our next books we will read and desserts we will create. Thank you for helping to make these events possible!”

  • Quality Books for an Award Winning Education (Part 1)

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you for your generous support of my project. I am thrilled to be able to provide new books for my classroom libraries each year. As a school, we read these 10 books that are selected as some of the best books published in the past few years and vote for our favorite book.

It is exciting to see the students enjoy reading each of the books and having discussions about them across grade levels and classrooms. Allowing students to vote for their favorite book out of the 10 encourages conversations about what students liked or did not like about each of the books. It allows them a chance to express their opinions and defend their choices.

Thank you for helping to build a love of reading in my students!”

  • Turning the Tables on Schoolwide Events

    Funded Aug 11, 2022

Thank you for your generous support of my project! It is amazing at how a few extra tables and some cloth table covers can enhance all of our school-wide events. We first used the tables during our Back-to-School Night event in September. It was such a relief to have enough tables to set out for each grade level. It definitely alleviated the hassle of trying to find people who could bring a table to work with them. Using the cloth table covers that stretch across the table and down the legs, was a huge hit as well. It meant we were not trying to tape thin plastic table covers to the tables and keep them from blowing away in the breeze. Teachers made quite a few comments about how much nicer the tables looked for our first event. We have since had plenty of opportunity to use the tables and cloths for other school-wide events, such as our centennial celebration, PTA meetings, and other parental involvement nights.

We could not have done this without your support. Thank you for providing the funds that allowed us to purchase tables and cloths that we now use frequently without the frustration of searching for what we need. Your support has helped to make our job just a bit easier. Thank you!”
