Band Together for Band Books!
Funded Dec 6, 2018Thank you for your contributions to this project. While much of this project request was for holiday music that will be used next school year, some of the individual concert pieces were used for our spring concert. One of the stand out pieces was Be Still My Soul. Each year, I allow a senior the opportunity to conduct a piece for our concert. One of my seniors heard this song and instantly remembered it from elementary school. He remembered singing and learning it as a child and jumped at the opportunity to conduct it. He had such an emotional connection to the song and it made his final concert special and memorable as his music education had come full circle. Thank you for making this special moment possible!”

Perk Up Percussion!
Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you for your contributions to this project. Since it's completion, we have performed in a local parade, performed a spring concert, participated in two adjudicated festivals where we scored EXCELLENT at both, and played at our school graduation. All of these class resources have been put to good use by my students. They are very appreciative of your donations. These performances would not have been as successful without these resources. The lyres were used for the parade, while all of the percussion supplies were used for both the parade and additional performances. We have had a very busy and successful year and couldn't have done it without your help and support!”

Funded May 30, 2018Thank you for helping to bring this project to life! We will be performing some of these songs for our upcoming Winter and Spring Concerts and competition. Our music choices have been limited recently because we have a number of students that have returned for multiple years of band and chorus (which is great!) but that means that we cannot repeat a song in our library. Without your generous donations, we would have been very limited in our choices of music. This project also purchased music at various levels so that our beginner/first year players can find success, while our more advanced pieces can have some challenging pieces so they are not bored. It also gives us a variety of song choices so that it is truly a Winter Concert as opposed to a Christmas Concert. This year, we will be playing a few traditional carols as well as songs for Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. This project also purchased a wide variety of music to use throughout the rest of the year also. We will be using some of these songs for our spring performance and our Band and Choral Competition in May! Thank you for giving us some wonderful musical selections for this year and the year to come!”

Funded Apr 12, 2018When I had first gotten the news that we were receiving a marimba, I was absolutely ecstatic. Not only would I be able to play it for our concert that would be going on in May, but I would be able to play it for my own graduation and other occasions before then. From the bottom of my heart I would like to personally say thank you for donating and helping the Mount Pleasant High School Music Department buy our marimba. You not only helped me with an instrument that I have been asking for, for a while now, but you have also helped add a new addition to the music department. Once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.”

All The...Small Things! (For Preventative Care And Maintenance!)
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for helping us purchase all the necessary repair and maintenance pieces for our instruments! This has helped us keep everything in tip-top shape. Students have learned to properly care for and maintain their instrument. My trombone players were especially grateful because we had just run out of trombone slide oil about a week before we received this package. These supplies will last the next year or two for the majority of my band students. Many students will get to continue to learn and play an instrument because of your generosity. Thank you for helping to make this happen!”

Funded Mar 20, 2018Thank you so much for helping us purchase a bassoon. This instrument is a huge investment for our program! We are the only school in our district that owns a bassoon! My students are so excited to have one, and I have had 3 students ask if they can switch instruments and learn bassoon next year. This is also a huge opportunity for whichever student does pick up the bassoon as many colleges will offer sizable scholarships to bassoon players because they are so desperately needed in programs. We brought in a college student to play the bassoon for our end of year concert, just so my current students could experience a concert with a bassoon, and they loved the addition! It was an extra "low voice" instrument that really helped to bolster those instruments, especially my trombone and euphonium players. This is a very exciting addition for us and it wouldn't have been possible without your donations. Thank you so much for helping us purchase this awesome instrument!”

Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Our Hearing Is Important!
Funded Mar 27, 2018We have noticed quite a difference in sound in our classroom because of these panels. It was a real team effort to hang them on the ceiling, but once we got them up there, we noticed how they improved the aesthetic and sound within the room. The classroom above us noticed a reduction in the sound bleed as well. While it did not completely solve the problem, the teacher did notice that he heard us less. This is a real improvement for his class as well as other classes in the building. We are not heard in the hallways and stairways as often. I know that we will never be able to truly soundproof my room, but every slight change helps! Thank you so much for making this project a reality!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple.Sound Off for Sound Equipment!
Funded Oct 26, 2017Thank you for helping us to purchase these high quality condenser microphones. Our spring concert was a huge success! Our audience members could hear us clearly for the first time in the four years that I have taught here. We received many compliments on the sound quality of our concert. We now have a full, complete sound system that is of professional quality. These microphones hung directly overhead for the duration of the concert so all of our groups received the benefit of the high quality amplification. Thank you so much for helping to make this a reality for my students and my school!”

Funded Jan 25, 2018thank you so much for your contributions to this project! Because of you we were able to purchase studio quality microphones that greatly improved the sound at our final concert of the year. Our entire system is complete and fully installed! I can't believe how much better it sounds in our auditorium now. One of the comments we received from many audience members was how clearly they could hear our groups. We also didn't have any feedback through the speakers because we were using such high quality equipment. We would not have been able to purchase this without your help! Thank you.”
