• Music Makers at the Ready

Students have been actively analyzing musical scores with the colored pencils in music theory class - preparing to conduct in a concert, all chorus students have had black binders, relieving the financial burden for some families that desperately needed it, and all of our music has been neatly and safely stored away at the end of each class. These may seem like minor things, but these purchases have helped make my students successful musicians this school year. Thank you for your donations to this project!”

• Lights, Camera, Performance!

  We used this camera to record our most recent concert this past December and it worked flawlessly. We have multiple performances coming in the next few weeks where this will be used regularly. We will be recording our upcoming competition, spring concert, festival, parade and graduation. The video quality is exponentially higher than the camera we have been using and the audio is spectacular. Thank you so much for your contribution to this project to support my classroom and help make this purchase possible.”

• Lock It Up!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. Because of your generous donations, we were able to get locks for our brand new instrument lockers, as well as replace the locks on our original locker set, as well as have a few extra locks on hand in case one is damaged, lost or needs to be cut. These locks help keep our valuable instruments safe and secure! In a school that provides every student with an instrument, it is important to prevent theft so that we can keep the instruments in the hands of those who need them most. We could not have done this without your help!”

• Reed All About It!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. Due to some issues in our purchasing office this year, we still have not received our school order of reeds for the school year. This project helped to ensure that we not only finished last school year off strong, but also that we started this school year smoothly, without issue. Being unable to place orders has made for a rocky start to the year for many, but our band hit the ground running. Thanks to your donations, students are able to learn the instrument of their choice beginning the second week of school!

• Validating Violins - Giving Students their First Choice Instrument!

  Thank you so much for your help getting this project funded so quickly. In one week, we receive the violins and had them set up and in student's hands. I even had students if they could take them home to begin practicing on their own after the first day. They were so excited to have their instruments. I appreciate your generosity. We could not have done this without wonderful donors like yourselves. We have always included string instruments in our program in the past, but only for students who owned their own instruments. It was only last year that we began to expand the program and offer school owned string instruments. The interest in the program has grown tremendously, and your donations are a huge factor in making our music program a success.

• Exciting Expansions: Music Stands for New Musicians!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. Because of your generosity, the school year got off to a smooth start for my new colleague! The classroom was set up with music stands and ready to meet eager musicians on day 1. Students have been learning to read music and play hand drums using a multicultural, cross-curricular program. Your donations helped our new teacher feel welcome, prepared and part of the team, and helped to create a second music classroom. It is an exciting time expanding our program from one full time teacher to two, and this means having so many more active musicians in our school. • Protection for the Prevention of Piano Pollution!

  I wanted to thank you for your contributions to this project. The keyboard covers have been a huge success in my classroom. They have significantly cut down on the number of students that touch the keyboards from class to class. Once the keyboards are sterilized, they are covered, keeping the keys clean and the students safe.

  The additional stands and ac adapter plug helped make all 22 keyboards available for student use. My piano class has been a huge success. I have also been able to make the keyboards available to my Intro to Music students as well. They are all enjoying learning to play the keyboard and I am so grateful that we can continue to do this safely. Thank you for your donations to make this happen!”

• Wipe Out! (Instrument safe Wipes)

  Thank you for your contributions to this project. My school has been out of wipes since the end of November. Without your contributions, we would have been sitting in silence, not playing our instruments. You have allowed us to continue playing and learning, uninterrupted. Our new semester began last week, and I had many students signing up to take a second or third music class because they know they can continue to play.

  We are all grateful for the sense of normalcy that has been given to us through something as simple as wipes. With the new semester, comes a new wave of students that will get to experience the joy of learning and playing music, thanks to you!”

• Crushing Covid with Music!

  Thank you so much for your contributions to this project. My students have loved being unrestricted and back to as close to normal as possible in these uncertain times. We are currently the only high school in the district with an up and running music program, thanks to your help.

  My chorus classes are finally able to sing without feeling like they are inhaling their masks, thanks to the mask brackets. Each student was able to receive two, along with a custom made, personalized, washable bag to hold them. My band is now fully masked and covered so they can safely socially distance and play in my classroom. The batteries for the pianos have been immensely helpful in allowing three classes worth of students get to experience playing an instrument.

• Mask Up RI, Mask Up Our Band!

  My students have been playing their instruments for the last month. They are so excited to have the band back in action. Most of these students haven't touched their instrument since school closed last March. While this is still far from normal, it is a fantastic step in that direction. It is so nice to hear music again and see my students with instruments in their hands. You are responsible for that joy my students and I have. We are currently the only high school in our district that is playing music, because you have given us the necessary PPE to do so. We so appreciate your generosity!”
