My students enjoy exploring science through lab activities. Having a spectrophotometer in my classroom gives me the opportunity to provide more lab activities. My biology students will use the spectrophotometer to identify the light absorption spectrum of various plant pigments, which will give them a better understanding of how photosynthesis works. One project my chemistry students will use the spectrophotometer for is to explore the Beer-Lambert Law and see for themselves how absorbance and concentration are related. Having a spectrophotometer in my classroom will give my students the opportunity to explore science concepts in a hands-on way.Hopefully this will help them understand science better.
