Dry, Clean, and Dignified
Funded Feb 7, 2022Dear Donors,
I am writing on behalf of my elementary school. I am speaking as the principal and I want to thank you all again for your contribution to my students. As mentioned in my project I am a principal of a Title 1 school with over 80% of my students coming from low-income homes. Each day for many presents challenges beyond anything I have ever experienced. I admire the resilience of these young people. When they show up they come ready to learn. Whatever we can do as a school/community to add some type of consistency for these students it increases their confidence. They know that people believe in them and care for their well-being beyond academics. The clothes that you helped fund for our students have been a blessing to our campus. My students have been able to have some dignity. Accidents happen but having a supply of clothing ready for students of all ages has been tremendous. Our students have been spared embarrassment, they have not had to miss class because they were in the office waiting to either be picked up or waiting for a change of clothes. (We are not always able to get ahold of someone). As a school, we are beyond grateful for your generosity. You have made a difference in our school. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Ms. R.

Funded Sep 23, 2016I'm so thankful for your donation into my classroom. This time of the year is very exciting for me a as teacher, because this is when my students start learning how to read. As a class we have been learning our letters and their sounds, reading sight words and reading books as a class, Now with the class library my students are able to recognize some familiar stories that I have read to them and they can read them now by themselves and with family members. They were excited that each story came with a cd so they can listen to the story. My students were so excited when I told them where the books came from. And they said thank you. There is no greater feeling for a teacher than when your students begin to learn, or as we call it in the education world, the moment when the light bulb went off. As a class will be reading the books throughout the year and will be taking them home to read at home as well.”
With gratitude,
Ms. R.
