  • And the Award Goes To...

    Funded May 9, 2024

Thank you! We had a wonderful awards day. The kids were surprised to get medals to celebrate their achievements this year. From the "Readers Are Leaders" medals for reading over 100 books this year to the "Excellence" medals for academic success, each student was able to have a lastly memento instead of a piece of paper (saving a few trees). I was very proud to present the math trophies for being great word problem solvers and the Spelling Bee medallions to the top three spellers. This has been a special year, so every student receiving a medal for what they contributed to the classroom was made possible because of you.”

  • Winter Learning Virtually

    Funded Jan 8, 2024

As we close out this school year, I can truly say that this group of students worked really hard. They overcame some major challenges in their learning (a Pandemic and Virtual Learning). The additional time and effort in practicing made a difference. The learning materials that were used at home was a game changer. Being able to send home the same activities to practice and study at home allowed my students to continue what they had learned that day in class. Each student had copies of decodable books at home that they could read and parents were able to help. Thank you for providing a way for us to bridge that connection between class and home!”

  • Bricks, Ciphers and More

    Funded May 7, 2024

My students are so excited to have these additional materials and resources. Every student loves LEGOS and the idea of using them to teach multiplication is exciting. At the end of each year, we teach Level Up lessons and activities to get our students ready for third-grade math. Multiplication and division are concepts that we can develop using the LEGO bricks. The extension packs will add ciphers and puzzles to our BreakoutEDU kits. My students have been learning about ciphers in our STEAM and IMPACT classes. Can't wait to see their faces when they get to solve their first cipher! Thank You”

  • In Living (House) Color

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Our house system is in its second year and my students are enjoying wearing their house color t-shirts on Fridays. Every student has their t-shirt and it is a joy to see their faces light up when they walk through the building. We are working with our school's Art teacher to design our shirts. My students can't wait to show off their new shirts. Providing a shirt for each student would not have been possible without you. It is important for our students to feel that their are seen. Thank you for making this happen and sharing in this school year.”

  • POP Goes Financial Literacy

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

As education continues to change and impact the lives of students, the resources and materials that benefit learning change. I have been blessed to use educational platforms like BrainPOP and BrainPOP Jr. to provide learning inside and outside of the classroom. I can assign my students content videos with activities that they can complete independently and at home. The variety of media clips allows my students to enhance their understanding of concepts like financial literacy and computer science. Parents also can support their children at home because I can place links within Google Classroom for additional practice or as study guides.

Thank you for supporting the learning of all students within my classroom!”

  • New 3R's - Read, wRite, self-Regulate

    Funded Oct 9, 2023

Having the proper tools for all students has been very important for our academic success this school year. Just being two years removed from an entire school year online because of COVID has shown that our education system has a lot of ground to make up. My second-grade students don't have the hand-eye coordination or the fine motor skills necessary to be successful with basic skills like writing. Most students haven't developed a pencil grip that allows them to control the basic strokes to form the uppercase and lowercase letters. The unusual pencil strokes make it difficult to print letters and numbers. The pencil grips and alternative pencils have helped some of my students to improve their penmanship. The fidget stickers and toys really help when they get frustrated and need a moment to calm themselves.

Being able to express yourself in writing is just one of the ways that students show their understanding of concepts. I am happy that this project is making a difference and supplies tools that my students can continue to use to make the necessary gains toward the next level.”

  • I'm Unique, I'm Special, Just Like You

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

Our House System is going strong in its second year. I wanted to show how much my students have learned and grown through this school year. Being able to display their photos on the "Our Family" bulletin board, is a highlight every week. The printer is easy to use. The students get to pick the pictures, and then we print and hang them up. Walking down our hallway, people get to see the wonderful learning taking place and the joy that my students feel. I able grateful for the chance to share my students' successes with friends, staff, family, and visitors. Also, the kids love having their pictures taken!”

  • Think Color!

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

It is a wonderful time of the year! My students are enjoying multiple activities and they have beautiful color pictures to sort during reading stations. Having color ink for our classroom printer allows me to print color pictures and word cards for my students to sort for learning spelling features. Not having to leave the classroom to make a paper copy when a student cuts the wrong time or does not follow directions is a lifesaver.

The simple classroom needs are magnified when the impact on learning is great. My students really appreciate having our classroom working and they also like to make copies of coloring sheets and other fun activities when we have indoor recess because of bad weather. Thank you for understanding the importance of making a classroom run better with a working printer!”

  • Healthy Hunger Games

    Funded Oct 12, 2023

The end of our school day is now a happy break time. Students get to choose a snack and listen to stories read to them aloud. At the beginning of the year, it was hard to hold everyone's attention because some students had snacks from home while most students didn't. Having food allergies or dietary preferences is sometimes very difficult for a child because you want to be like everyone else. Being able to provide healthy snacks that are non-GMO, non-diary, nut-free, or plant-based is great and it shows the inclusivity of all students and their needs.

Now that every child has a snack, they can focus on listening to the story and enjoying their storytelling time. Thank you for providing equity within our class! Making sure that snacks are available for all students takes away that feeling of being different. We are so grateful for your understanding and for recognizing the need for a project like this.”

Everyone can learn! There are so many ways to show success in a classroom. In today's classroom, integration of technology, arts, and environment is used to balance mastery of skills and concepts. I would like to bring our classroom into the 21st century. As educators, we must provide a flexible, learning environment that will foster growth and inspire our children to reach beyond the stars and change the planet that we live on. We want them to be creative, productive, responsible citizens within this global society.
