  • Boys Unlocking the Power of Reading During the Summer

    Funded Jul 2, 2012

Thank you for donating 50 Copies of Zero to Hero Ghost Buddy and 50 Copies of Secret Saturdays. My boys were very excited to see these new books. The book, Zero to Hero is being used with my fourth and fifth graders. It is helping my male students with comprehension and making connections. They are loving the books.

My seventh grade boys are really enjoying the book, Secret Saturdays. They are very enthusiastic reading about the characters. Their fluency and oral summaries have drastically improved.

Your generosity has motivated my male students to read. Thank you so much for turning my male students into proficient and engaged readers.”

  • Preventing Bullying Through Exposure to Disturbing Scenarios

    Funded May 1, 2012

Thank you very much for funding the money necessary for all the fifth through eighth graders at my school to see the movie,Bully. The students were on the edge of their seats as they watched the movie, Bully. They found the movie to be meaningful and very engaging. They comprehended the roles of victim, bully and bystander. Following the movie, they asked relevant and articulate questions. We had a discussion where students shared their views about the movie.

Your generosity was very appreciated. The students, teachers and parents tremendously thank you .”

  • War Horse: Engaging 4th and 5th Graders to Read

    Funded Mar 21, 2012

Thank you very much for the generous donation of thirty-two copies of the book,War Horse. My students were very excited seeing copies of the book and wondered when we would begin reading it. The students absolutely loved the first chapter. They were able to visualize the physical and personality characteristics of War Horse. The book,War Horse is read aloud and independently. The students are constantly asking when we will read the next chapter. This book truly engages all of my fifth grade boys and girls. In closing,

One student stated, "War Horse is amazing and makes reading come alive."

    Sincerely,

    Todd Feltman”

  • The Key to Helping Kinesthetic Students Focus

    Funded Dec 15, 2011

Thank you very much for your generous donations in order for me to purchase the focus/stress balls. It really helps my second through eighth graders focus and actively participate in mini lessons, class discussions, read alouds, and independent work. The students enjoy using them, especially the boys. I have shared the benefits with classroom teachers who have also used them and have had successful academic results. I have nicknamed the focus balls as Superpower Concentration Energy. They like that nickname. The students are very appreciative and so am I!

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Feltman
