They have enjoyed identifying and discussing helpful strategies with their classmates. My students have drawn sketches and written notes to help them internalize the strategies.

    My goal for teaching reading is for students to comprehend what they read and for them to find joy in reading various genres. I enjoy recommending books to them.

    My students have begun writing in their journals. They like the fact that they can use it during the school day and at home. My students like the engaging and thoughtful prompts. They are becoming stronger at writing and speaking using emotional vocabulary.

    My students get to do independent reading on a daily basis. They like choosing their own books. Partner book discussion is a big hit. My students like to recommend books to each other.
