I am a physical education teacher in one of the poorest school districts in America. This means that funds are limited and usually run out fast. Purchasing equipment that would assist in keeping students active and alleviating childhood obesity is "placed on the back burner". Combining physical activity with the intake of nutritious foods is a great way to combat diseases that plague our community. Offering students a nutritious "Smoothie Bar" at least once per week is a way to be a part of the solution.
