Funded Feb 23, 2024Thank you so much for donating the pads, feminine hygiene products, and bags for our female middle school students at Cardozo Middle School. Our young women helped fill and organize over 100 "hygiene station bags" to distribute to over 30 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade classrooms. The girls who assembled the bags were excited to receive the items and to know that there were community members who cared about them enough to donate so many items. They raved about the beauty of the bags and mentioned "feeling special" because they received these "gifts."
Our school is a Title I school, and many of our students come from low socio-economic communities in South Jackson. Our students and teachers believe our futures are bright despite the current poverty and social inequity challenges. Knowing that donors like you have supported our most vulnerable communities encourages teachers to fight for educational equity. The pads and bags also help reduce absenteeism, as students do not have to go home when they have feminine hygiene needs. Our students can focus on their academic growth and their bright future.”
With gratitude,
Dr. Kimberly Annette Hardy
