  • Give My Spanish Students Authentic, Engaging Opportunities to Learn!

    Funded Mar 26, 2025

I am writing to extend my deepest gratitude for your generous donation of a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card to support my middle school Spanish classroom. As an educator with over two decades of experience and a doctorate in education, I have always believed in the transformative power of relevant, engaging resources—especially in a language classroom where connection and creativity are key. Your support has allowed me to access high-quality, culturally rich materials that not only enhance my students' language skills but also deepen their understanding of the Spanish-speaking world.

Thanks to your kindness, I have been able to integrate interactive lessons, games, and culturally authentic projects into my curriculum that go far beyond the textbook. My students are more engaged than ever, practicing vocabulary through digital escape rooms, building conversational skills with role-play scenarios, and exploring the diversity of Spanish-speaking countries through visual and audio materials. These resources have been especially impactful for my diverse group of learners, helping me differentiate instruction and reach every student at their level. Your gift has truly enriched their educational experience—and for that, I am profoundly grateful.”

  • Say Cheese, Snack, & Learn! Tech & Treats For Engaged Students

    Funded Mar 7, 2025

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation, which provided my middle school Spanish students with essential supplies, including hand sanitizer, headphone storage bags, a card reader for the yearbook, and snacks. Your kindness and support have made an incredible difference in our classroom, transforming the way my students develop their Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Thanks to you, they are not only learning Spanish but also growing in confidence, organization, and engagement.

Your donation has played a crucial role in keeping our learning environment clean and organized. The hand sanitizer has helped ensure that my students stay healthy, allowing them to focus on their learning rather than worrying about germs, especially during cold and flu season. Having access to sanitizer at all times has given them a sense of comfort, knowing they can keep their hands clean before handling shared materials, writing assignments, and classroom supplies.

The headphone storage bags have been a game changer in maintaining an efficient and structured classroom. With the increased use of headphones for listening exercises, pronunciation practice, and language-learning apps, proper storage has helped extend the life of our headphones and keep them easily accessible. No longer do students waste time untangling cords or searching for a missing pair—everything is neatly stored and ready for use. This has improved our listening activities, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in authentic Spanish audio experiences, practice pronunciation, and develop stronger comprehension skills.

The card reader for the yearbook has also been an invaluable resource. As students document and celebrate their learning experiences, having access to technology that streamlines the process has encouraged them to take ownership of their projects. This tool has helped my students develop their writing and storytelling skills in Spanish, as they record events, interview classmates, and create meaningful yearbook entries that reflect their journey in language learning. The ability to incorporate digital literacy into our Spanish curriculum has further enriched their educational experience and prepared them for future academic and professional opportunities.

The snacks you provided have been a true blessing. Many of my students face long school days, and hunger can be a major distraction. Having snacks available ensures that they have the energy to stay focused, engaged, and ready to participate. This is especially important for students who may not always have access to nutritious snacks at home. A simple granola bar or fruit snack can make all the difference in keeping a student alert and motivated to practice their Spanish skills. One student recently told me, "It's so much easier to concentrate when I'm not hungry." Your generosity has directly contributed to their ability to stay engaged and perform their best.

For my students with special needs, these donations have been especially impactful. The structured organization of headphone storage bags has helped students with ADHD stay on track during listening activities. The ability to access clean hands before handling materials has been particularly helpful for students with sensory sensitivities. The availability of snacks has provided stability for students who struggle with focus due to hunger, ensuring that they can fully participate in speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities without unnecessary barriers.

Beyond the academic benefits, your donation has helped create a classroom culture of care and support. My students feel valued knowing that generous individuals like you believe in their success. They are more confident in their abilities and more excited to engage in Spanish because they have the tools they need to succeed. Your generosity has not only provided essential materials but has also shown my students that their learning matters.

Your support has empowered my students to learn, grow, and achieve in ways that would not have been possible without your kindness. You may not be in the classroom every day, but your contribution is felt in every lesson, every moment of engagement, and every student who confidently communicates in Spanish. You have given my students a gift that will benefit them for years to come.

On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in the power of education and for making such a meaningful impact in our lives. Your support has created opportunities, inspired dreams, and transformed our learning environment in extraordinary ways.”

  • Sticky Success: Tools for Learning and Cleanliness in Spanish Class!

    Funded Feb 16, 2025

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation, which provided my middle school Spanish students with essential classroom supplies, including clipboards, glue sticks, pipe cleaners, tissues, and crayons. Your kindness and support have made an incredible difference in our classroom, transforming the way my students develop their Spanish speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Thanks to you, they are not only learning Spanish but also growing in confidence, creativity, and engagement.

Your donation has had a profound impact on my students' learning experience. The clipboards have allowed them to work more flexibly, whether they are participating in interactive speaking activities, moving around the room for scavenger hunts, or practicing their writing skills in small groups. Having these tools has made learning more dynamic and engaging, allowing students to be active learners rather than being confined to their desks.

The glue sticks, pipe cleaners, and crayons have enabled my students to engage in hands-on projects that reinforce language skills in meaningful ways. They have created colorful vocabulary posters, interactive storybooks, and collaborative art projects that incorporate Spanish words and phrases. These creative activities make learning fun and accessible, especially for students who learn best through tactile and visual experiences. One student excitedly told me, "I love making my own Spanish book with pictures—it helps me remember the words better!"

For many of my students, especially those with special needs, these materials have been game changers. Students with dyslexia and other learning differences benefit from multi-sensory approaches to language learning. Using pipe cleaners to form letters and words, for example, provides a tactile reinforcement that helps them retain vocabulary. The use of color-coded activities with crayons helps students with ADHD stay focused and organized, improving their ability to categorize and remember information. These resources allow me to provide differentiated instruction, ensuring that every student can access and engage with the Spanish language at their own pace.

Beyond the academic benefits, your donation has fostered a sense of enthusiasm and collaboration in my classroom. Students now eagerly participate in speaking and listening activities, using clipboards to take notes during peer conversations or interactive language games. They have developed greater confidence in expressing themselves in Spanish, knowing that they have the tools to support their learning. The glue sticks and craft supplies have encouraged teamwork as students work together to build visual presentations, write creative dialogues, and design culturally inspired projects that bring the Spanish-speaking world to life.

Your generosity has also met an essential need by providing tissues, ensuring that my students can stay comfortable and healthy in our learning environment. Something as simple as a tissue can make a big difference for a child trying to focus on learning while dealing with seasonal allergies or a cold. Your kindness in meeting these everyday needs shows my students that they are cared for and supported.

Additionally, your donation has helped my students develop essential problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. By using the supplies you provided, they are learning to work collaboratively, think creatively, and express their ideas in Spanish with confidence. These are skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom, preparing them for future success in language learning and beyond.

Your generosity has truly empowered my students to learn, grow, and achieve in ways that would not have been possible without your support. You may not be in the classroom every day, but your kindness is felt in every lesson, every hands-on project, and every moment of newfound confidence when a student successfully communicates in Spanish. You have given my students a gift that will benefit them for years to come.

On behalf of my students and myself, thank you for believing in the power of education and for making such a meaningful impact in our lives. Your support has created opportunities, inspired dreams, and transformed our learning environment in extraordinary ways.”

Students will be using the interactive whiteboard daily during the 90 minute block. One area my students struggle the most with is listening and speaking Spanish. Having taught Immersive Spanish for many years, I understand how frightening an immersive classroom can be to a middle school student. Speaking a new language requires confidence. I am requesting an interactive whiteboard to provide authentic comprehensible input in a fun way for my 6th and 7th graders. Students will be able to listen to and view stories/videos to practice listening and oral skills which will boost their listening and speaking confidence. In my classroom, we practice listening and speaking daily using cooperative learning strategies. The addition of technology would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready and willing to use the target language. Students are on a block schedule, which means 90 minute class periods. It is very difficult for 11-12 year old students to sit for that length of time. The interactive whiteboard would also promote movement in the classroom, allowing for purposeful, engaging movements throughout my lessons. Movement is a brain break for many students as this could be their only time to move about with the exception of hallway transitions. Since my classes are 32 students or greater, an interactive whiteboard would allow me to meet the learning styles of more students throughout the class period meeting IEP and 504 accommodation requirements as well as addressing the infamous multiple intelligences and personality types. I will be able to engage more students each class period. An interactive whiteboard would allow me to connect to my students through technology in a meaningful way.
