My 6th and 7th grade students attend a 6th-12th grade charter school. The school is located in a low income area with around 80% of the student population receiving free or reduced price lunches. About 60% of my students begin the school year reading one to six grades below 6th grade reading level. With hard work from students, parents, and teachers, our students have achieved higher test scores than most of the local schools.
