Our students are 7th and 8th grader, boys and girls attending a public intermediate school that still offers a shop class. The wood shop has seating for up to 40 students and includes all students from high achieving to special education. These students learn a variety of important skills including, measuring with a fractional ruler, safely using hand and power tools, and team work. The classes are mixed, boys and girls, 7th and 8th graders, and students must work in small groups at their benches. Time management skills and good citizenship are also valuable tools students learn and practice throughout their 12 weeks in the shop.
