As future engineers, my students need lots of opportunities to use the engineering process. They have designed and tested prototypes of buildings that can withstand earthquakes. They also designed and tested our solutions to prevent beach erosion. By providing these bridge kits, I hope each child will have an opportunity to be a creative problem solver. Like most children today, my students spend a huge amount of their day in front of electronic screens. This project will help balance their STEM education by giving them a hands-on experience in which they need to collaborate with their peers to solve a challenge.
