Getting Ready to Read!
Funded Oct 22, 2018My students and I are overjoyed in receiving our materials. The initial impact was their overall excitement and their curiosity in how they would be used. The students asked why we got them?, who could use them first?, when will we star using them? Students are typically quick to notice anything new to my classroom but showed real enthusiasm when inquiring about our new baskets.
We are preparing to use our paper bins and boxes to better organize our reading materials. Kindergarten is the foundation to all habits which develop into learning strategies for future success. Organized materials will send a message on the care of our resources and keeping them well preserved for their classmates. Keeping an organized system for reading also helps the students by holding them to a specific set of expectations.
Our goal with the new materials is to put them into use as we begin our new letters and sounds unit leading to word work and initial reading strategies, promoting independence by having a set place for our material, teaching them the importance of reading by having a special place to store our reading tools.
Thank you so much for contributing and supporting education.”

Art-Tastic Pre-K
Funded Mar 27, 2018I am so very grateful to have been funded for the materials I needed for my students. Education is the key to all future successes and building a strong foundation in early childhood cements their ability to reach their fullest potential.
We received art supplies for my classroom. The reason for the request of these items was to supply my student with multiple resources to foster their creativity. Art is vital in Pre-Kindergarten classes because our student have not yet mastered their writing skills. Art allows them freedom of expression. The children were excited to see new materials and made some exciting projects with our new art supplies. Providing them with all the supplies their imaginations and creativity soared.
Thank you so for your generosity and love toward early childhood education.”

Funded Mar 12, 2016Thank you so very much for believing in my vision for my students success.
I first took the rug out on a Friday afternoon so it would be ready for the students as they arrived Monday morning. My super observant class noticed it immediately and could not wait for center time to test drive our new rug. Nearly every student wanted to choose blocks that morning. I wonder why?
The rug purchased for my classroom is the perfect addition to my child friendly room. The rug has been placed in my block corner and I have been amazed the many ways my students have used it so far. It has provided them with a warm, and cozy area for play and a place to be creative as they build some beautiful block structures. The addition of the rug has allowed them to build bigger and bigger buildings because the noise has been controlled. It has nearly eliminated the loud crash that always follows. This is how I hoped it would benefit us. But to my surprise I have seen it used many different ways.
I was observing my class one morning during center time and noticed a small group of four student on the carpet. What caught my attention was that they seemed to be just sitting in a circle, not a single block, car, or toys was around. As I approached them I began to tune in to the conversation they were having. One student said I'm sitting on M because that is the first letter of my name. What is the first letter of your name Jennifer? My students were using the rug, with letters and numbers on it to play a game. For Pre-K this was a hit it out of the park moment. Today in education it seems all to often about how to put on a show to enhance learning and here in this moment they proved that theory wrong. They used the rug to enforce the lesson from earlier in the morning, what is the first letter in this name? They were role playing and I was beaming. I hope the pictures support how much we love our new rug. Thank you!”
