Students have been asking me if they can use some of the copy paper I have in my classroom to make their own sketchbooks. The biggest problem with this is that the only paper I have as the art teacher is paper I took from our copy room. That is all the paper we will have in the art room for the entire year. This explains why the paper cannot be used to make sketchbooks. The number of drawing projects we can do is limited because of the amount of paper I have in my room. However, if each student had a sketchbook, not only would they be able to come to Art every day and practice drawing, but they would have a personal outlet for their creativity. I know if this project gets funded, many students' dreams will come true. The sketchbook would be their creative journal for practicing techniques that they have learned in class and bringing home to continue on with the adventure of creativity.
