• Learning Together—One Rug Spot at a Time!

  Thank you so much for your generous contributions, which have truly transformed our classroom with the addition of a new rug! This vibrant, defined space has created a welcoming environment where students can easily gather for partner work and group activities. Recently, during a lesson, I was able to sit in the middle of the rug, surrounded by students who were paired up to discuss math work. The layout allowed for seamless interactions and made it easy for me to engage with each group, providing support and encouragement.

  When the students first saw the new rug, their faces lit up with excitement! The defined spaces not only help them stay organized but also foster a sense of community as they work closely with one another. Your support has made these enriching experiences possible, and we are incredibly grateful for your belief in our classroom!”

• Creative and Crafty Kids

  Generous donations through DonorsChoose have truly transformed the atmosphere of our first-grade class. The addition of privacy boards has worked wonders, offering each student a personal space to concentrate on their tasks without distraction. These boards have become more than just dividers; they have created a sense of ownership for the children, allowing them to immerse themselves in their work and foster a stronger connection with their learning environment.

  The impact extends beyond partitions and privacy. The introduction of book bins has brought organization and accessibility to our library. Students have a defined space to borrow books from, fostering a love for reading while instilling responsibility in caring for our literary resources. It's heartwarming to witness their enthusiasm as they explore the neatly arranged bins, selecting books that captivate their imaginations and fuel their growing passion for learning.

  And then, there's our unexpected class pet – the weighted lizard! Thanks to a thoughtful donation, this cozy companion has found its place among the students. It has become a source of comfort and focus, particularly for those in need. The weighted lizard has turned into an unofficial mascot, offering a unique blend of support and companionship to students during various activities. We're immensely grateful for the donors whose contributions have brought these positive changes to our first-grade class, creating an environment that nurtures both academic growth and emotional well-being.”

• The Power of Sound

  Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. With the push to incorporate more and more technology into daily classroom activities, headphones have become a vital part of giving students their own focused space to work on their technology based tasks. These headphones are comfortable and cancel a lot of outside noise that leads to distraction.

  The clipboards give students an opportunity to write around the room, since our classroom promotes flexible seating choices.

  The students and I thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness and fulfilling our wishlist to make the classroom run smoother and give students flexible opportunities to meet their goals.”

• Let's Get Handsy with Hands On Learning

  Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. The materials afforded to us with these donations have been put to use immediately.

  The students are using the manipulatives for hands-on math instruction. The fidgets have been a great addition to our reward system to reinforce positive behavior and role model choices. The baggies will be coming home shortly as the sturdier, more dependable alternative to ziploc bags to hold our favorite books as they travel back and forth between home and school.

• Cozy, Colorful and Creative Classroom

  Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. The materials afforded to us with these donations have made a huge impact on our daily activities and have provided a warm and inviting space for students to work in and flourish. The printer we have added to our classroom has given us a chance to showcase our work through pictures. It is also used to print out feedback for students on their work and to print our mini charts, reminders and daily success criteria for students to keep track of expectations and stay on task.

  The students love the storage seat cushions, because not only can we store day to day supplies inside, students like to sit on them during small group instruction. The colorful circle dots create a clearly defined work space.

  We are very grateful for all of the donations that made it possible to make our classroom into a cozy, inviting and a productive space for the students.”
