  • Help Our Classroom With Supplies to Boost Motivation and Creativity!

    Funded Aug 20, 2019

Thank you so much for your generosity! The 2019-2020 school year is more than halfway over (!) and the supplies that you've donated have been extremely useful in my classroom. Every day the classroom printer is being used to create motivational classwork, student-created math problems, and anchor charts and posters for the classroom. The students love seeing some of their materials in color and are eager to see their work on the bulletin board.

The Laser Maze game quickly became one of the more popular logic games the students choose to play during their choice time. It is so much fun to see certain students excel in this game where they sometimes struggle in other areas of math class.

Thanks again for your donation and generosity. Despite being in my 20th year as a 6th-grade math teacher, the work doesn't get any easier. However, with awesome material and supplies, the job is definitely a lot more manageable.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

  • Help My Students See In Class!

    Funded May 13, 2019

Thank you so much for the projector bulb! I knew that our classroom projector bulb was dim, but there is such a big difference between the old bulb and new bulb. I didn't tell my students about the new bulb, but they all immediately realized the brightness the moment they entered the classroom. This new bulb ensures that every student can clearly see the board, copy the class notes, and be fully engaged in the lesson.

Thank you again for your generosity and ability to help my students. With this gift, over 90 6th-graders will benefit in the math classroom each year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

  • An iPad Will Revolutionize Learning!

    Funded Nov 27, 2018

It is impossible to thank you enough for your generous donation. When I told the students about the iPad and had students use it to practice their math skills, the positive energy in the classroom was incredible! Even my lowest level students are excited to practice and do extra work.

By using the interactive applications the iPad has to offer, learning and practicing math skills become fun and exciting! During class I am now able to differentiate better than ever before. Students that need extra practice can use the iPad on their own without distracting their teammates.

I have also connected the iPad to my Smartboard and instantaneously all math apps are shown on the large interactive screen! The students are so excited to go to the Smartboard to demonstrate and practice their skills. Finally, the iPad is also being used as a remote monitor. I can control my computer from the iPad or let students write information on the iPad which automatically projects onto the Smartboard.

The uses for the iPad in my classroom are extensive. I am so excited to explore all the possibilities and to continue to find ways to reach all of my students. Thank you once again for your generosity and dedication to improve education.”

  • Don't Let My Students Sink Without Ink!

    Funded Aug 11, 2018

I can't thank you enough for your generosity and support for my classroom. With the ink that was purchased from your donation, my students have been able to see their math projects, awards, certificates, worksheets, study guides, and anything else they create in color. When I show the amazing work that my students have completed, their worksheets and pictures standout on the bulletin board. Being able to print documents to our classroom printer, instead of a school printer, that is oftentimes jammed, saves my students a lot of time.

Thanks again for your help. The ink for the printer is used every day, with every class, and it positively affects all 87 of my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

  • Help the School Year Start Off "Write"!

    Funded Aug 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my class 6th grade students and their classroom. Every day we use the dry erase boards, markers and other supplies to make math class more fun and engaging. The students love using the dry erase boards to practice their math skills and help their teammates. Without these supplies, math class would consist primarily of during the work on paper and pencil and less work would get done. Students are able to quickly do the work and hold up their board for me to quickly assess their understanding.

Thanks again for your support. It is amazing to know that donors like you are willing to give to these very hard-working students you've never met. Have a very happy new year!”

  • Help Support ADD, ADHD, and Austisic Students With Sensory Tools!

    Funded Aug 23, 2018

Thank you so much for the generous donations to help fund my project. This project has helped some of the most struggling students in the class. For students with ADD and ADHD, it is unreasonable to expect them to sit in a chair for the entire 90-minute duration of math class. These materials have provided them, and many other students, tools, and techniques to make learning more conducive for them. The sensory cushions have been so helpful for the students who have difficulty staying in their seat without constant movement. The sensory balls are been so helpful for the students who work better when they have something in their hands to fidget with. Before having these sensory balls, the students used to constantly tap their pencils, play with items on their desk, and/or move their hands to teammates' desks near theirs.

Thank you so much once again for your support. Teaching is a difficult job, but with donors like you, it becomes a little easier and helps to support more children to reach their full potential. Have a great holiday season and a happy new year!”

  • Give My Students the Best "Shot" to Learn!

    Funded Jul 18, 2018

I've been teaching for over 19 years and have used many different manipulatives, books, and incentives throughout the years. However, never before has a classroom resource provides as much motivation and fun as the "Double Shot" Basketball game. My students love it! My students have always worked hard, but they now love getting rewarded for their hard work. Students that demonstrate grit, optimism and hard work, get a 1-2 minute break to play the game while everyone else works. Because of the classroom culture, the rest of the class is able to remain focused and are getting more work done than before.

Thank you so much for your donation and support. I am always completely humbled to know that people who've never met these amazing students from the South Bronx are helping to level the educational playing field.

Have a great holiday season and a very Happy New Year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

  • Without Ink, Our Work Will Stink!

    Funded Dec 23, 2017

Thank you so much for the amazingly generous donation which allowed my class and classroom to be able to use our color printer. Prior to your donations and receiving the greatly needed ink, the class used the printer as a piece of furniture to store papers and books :-) Now, my class can continue to print amazingly wonderful, beautiful and informative math projects and I can print worksheets for them to complete so they can learn as much math as possible.

It is amazing to know that people like you are willing to spend your time and money to help students from the South Bronx improve their education. Thanks again. Have a great summer!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

  • A "Pencil" and Accessories Can Revolutionize The Classroom

    Funded Nov 19, 2017

You're the best, you're amazing, and you are definitely greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your donation. When my students heard that their class was going to have access to the Apple Pencil, they were beyond excited. Once it arrived in the mail, every single one of them couldn't wait and were so eager to use it. Never before have they used the Apple pencil before and we have only begun to discover all that it has to offer. There are some amazing math games that require the use of the pencil, and a lot of my students love to draw during their free time and this pencil provides motivation and incentive for these students to do great work.

Thank you once again for all of your help and generosity.

    Have a great summer!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Nieder

I teach 6th grade math in an inner-city charter middle school in a high-need area. Over 90% of our students qualify for free lunch according to their household incomes. My students attend school from 7:25 am-4:30 pm Monday-Friday, on Saturdays, and for 3 weeks in July. They work extremely hard every day and the results show; 100% of my students passed the 2011 NYS Math Test! Teaching is never easy, but having the right supplies makes learning fun and allows my students to achieve their goals.
