Tiling X's and Y's for Algebra
Funded Oct 11, 2023Thank you again for donating to the Algebra Tiles to my 6th grade classroom They are enjoying using them in my math class.
My students have used the Algebra Tiles to help them combine like terms as they start to learn some algebra concepts. Having these tiles this year really has helped them see and understand the reason why we combine terms the way we do.
I am planning to also use them to teach my special needs class how to add and subtract negative numbers. They already saw them on my table and are excited about "playing with them". Ha ha.”

Ms. Martin

Funded Mar 12, 2023Thank you so much for donating these Versa Tiles to my class. These tiles offer an opportunity for student to review and do extra practice for specific math skills that they need help with. It lets them check their work when they finish to see how well they did. While some of the students are working on the Versa Tiles, I can help other students in other groups.
The students love working with these Versa Tiles because they are hands on. They can review using something other than worksheets or a computer.
Thank you again for donating to my class and helping my students!”

Listening Ears for Math!
Funded Feb 16, 2023Thank you so much for helping my classroom by donating headphones. I use various educational websites for students to review buy many do not have their own headphones that they can use. These headphones allow the students to review independently, at their own pace, and not distract other students.
Because I teach at a middle school, these 24 headphones service about 100 students on a daily basis. The students love how big and comfortable the headphones are. They are assigned a number and they know that they can borrow it whenever they need it.
Thank you again for helping my students be successful in Math!”

Amazing 3D Math!
Funded Dec 29, 2017My students and I are super excited to be using our new 3-D printer. The students started printing objects so they can determine their volume. In order to determine the volume, they have to multiply fractions, decimals, and whole numbers. While at the same time, they get to use their creativity.
When my students first saw the 3-D printer, they could not believe it at first! They immediately started making plans on how to use it, and even involved students from other classes in their projects. They felt so proud and touched that someone would give donate this to them. I have students who are normally very quiet, teaching others how to create projects, as well as working together in group projects. More importantly, they are seeing not only how Math is important in their lives, they are also getting a preview of what the future will hold for them.
The next step for the 3-D printer is to have students create something that would help solve a problem in our society or for someone. They just started creating gears that could be assembled and used to create mechanisms that will move and be functional.
I am so looking forward to see what my students will create next!”

Funded Dec 28, 2013Thank you so much for funding my project. It means a lot to me when someone takes an interest in helping our children do well in school.
The students really enjoyed using the workbooks to practice their Fractions and Decimals in class. They worked in groups and helped each other answer the questions in the books. They especially enjoyed the pictures that were included the books, because it made it easier for them to learn.
Thanks to your donation, my class had the highest passing rate on my grade level on the End of Year test. Most of my students exceeded expectations in Math!”

Funded Oct 9, 2010Thank you for funding my Project to provide my students Weekly Readers!
We use them in our class every week to enrich our Reading, Science, and Social Studies, while we stay informed of what is happening in the world around us. We also cut the pictures of any extra magazines we have and use them on our bulletin board in class, when they support our Theme for the month!
These readers are such an excellent source to not only teach my students, but inspire them as well. The students read the fascinating stories and can not seem to get enough of the Weekly Readers. Additionally, the reporters of these magazines are students themselves, so my students are inspired to become better writers.
It is only because of your generous donation that my students can have this enrichment opportunity. Thank you again, and may you enjoy many blessings in return!”

Ms. Martin
Readers for Scholars!
Funded Mar 13, 2009I wanted to thank you for donating the Weekly Readers to my class. They had a great time when they received them!! They also felt honored that someone would donate their money to buy magazines for them; it made them feel very special. You actually helped two classes of about twenty students each, so your generous donation counts double!
I teach at a high poverty school and extra supplies are difficult to come by. Having these Weekly Readers, in addition to their regular reading program, makes reading more meaningful. The scholars get to see how important it is to read, as well as learn some very interesting facts.
Whenever my scholars read Weekly Reader magazines, they view learning as fun and relevant to their lives. And more importantly, they realize that learning doesn't have to stop in the classroom.
And thanks to your donation, some of my scholars even got inspired to become writers and hope to work for a magazine or newspaper someday.”

New Technologically Advanced Class Needs Upgrades
Funded May 6, 2008I wanted to thank you for taking your time to read and, of course, fund my project.
Our society is becoming more technologically advanced each day and it's important that our students are introduced to this technology early on. Unfortunately, this is not always possible with limited school funding.
I am thrilled to be able to use my new Inkjet Multifunction machine in my classroom. Because of your donation, I will be able to print quality student work, pictures, and scan items to use with my newly acquired Smartboard. Your funding will make a big difference in my classroom and my students' learning experiences! I look forward to sending you pictures and updates on how we are using your gift to learn.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Digna ”
