Keep the Knowledge In, and the Germs Out!
Funded Oct 27, 2022Room 7 can't thank you enough for all of the amazingly generous donations that were made to get us our Ruggable Washable Rug for our classroom! It has made such a difference in our room! Not only is it super stylish and matches our room perfectly. it is comfortable to sit on, and most of all clean!! I have been able to take the rug home to wash a number of times already. It washes and dries very well, and is super easy to place back in the classroom when it's clean! The students and I all feel so much better knowing we have a clean carpet in our classroom! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for making our classroom a more comfortable place to learn!”

Eco Friendly Storage for Individual Student Book Bags
Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for the learning materials we received for my STEAM magnet class. We received reusable silicon bags in various sizes and we use them all daily! Students use the gallon size ziploc bags for their book bags, where they are able to choose new books from our classroom library each week to strengthen their reading skills during Reader's Workshop. They use the snack size ziploc bags to keep their phonics and sound spelling pattern cards in each week! Previously, all these bags had to be replaced weekly, due to cleanliness and wear and tear, and now students are able to help the environment while still utilizing their learning materials to the fullest. We are so appreciative of your kindness and generosity!”

Magnificent Math Centers for Marvelous Mathematicians!
Funded Aug 23, 2018My class and I can't thank you enough for your extremely generous donation. The materials you funded have made an extreme difference to my class and their progress in math. We are using the new resources to rotate weekly math centers, focusing on all of the common core standards. The students are using the multi-sided dice to play math games and help them learn how to count by 2's, 3's, 5's, and 10's. They use the privacy dividers for their weekly math assessments, and they use the expo markers and erasers daily for their math warmup.
When my students first saw the materials coming to the classroom in boxes, they were so excited to find out what was coming. They helped me unpack all of the materials and I explained to them exactly how we would be using each of the materials. In my classroom, I use a combination of the Eureka math curriculum and CGI (cognitively guided instruction) approach. The materials have been crucial to mastering the cgi approach, because it requires as many hands on materials and manipulatives as possible. Thank you again for such a generous donation to bettering a classroom of young minds!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and one other donor.Fantastic Flexible Seating for Fabulous First Graders!
Funded Apr 28, 2017As the year has come to a close, I cannot thank you enough for the generous donation you provided to the students in my classroom. The impact that the flexible seating project had on the kids was so positive for their learning environment. I have on student who spent the entire year out of his chair because he is more comfortable standing when he works. It was disruptive to the other students because his chair was often in the middle of the room, and he was blocking others view. When I put him at the standing desk, his behavior significantly improved because he was able to work in an environment he was comfortable in. The wiggle seat helped a few of my more active students stay focused, and the bean bags were a fun, comfortable place for the students to engage in independent reading. All of the materials, especially the rug, made the room a more comfortable environment for the students to learn in. Again, we cannot thank you enough. Thank you for supporting education!”
