Engaging our students in team sports has always been a rewarding endeavor. Building a stable learning community that fosters collaboration and camaraderie among students is something that our school promotes every year. Though basketball tends to be the most popular sport in our school, we’ve noticed a growing interest in the sport of soccer amongst many of our students, several of whom have expressed a willing desire to stay after school and scrimmage, while others have inquired if it were possible to assemble a team.
Our goal is to create a Futsal Soccer Program. Futsal soccer is an indoor soccer game that is especially accessible for our students during the winter, and, given that the game is played on a hardwood floor, players could use regular gym shoes to participate.
The resources we have requested have been carefully selected to ensure a meaningful Futsal soccer experience. The five Nike Menor Futsal soccer balls are unique given that they’re smaller and weigh a bit more than the average outdoor soccer ball. With less bounce, these balls will allow us to teach better ball-handling skills, and keeping ball passes on the floor while running drills and scrimmages. The two, three-by-four- feet, BSN Sports Funnet Soccer Goals will help teach students how to take accurate shots within a smaller-than-average goal. The Red Pinnies will be used to differentiate sides in a scrimmage, while the whistle, the air pumps, and the ball transport bag will assist with organizing and maintaining a healthy soccer-playing atmosphere.
With your help we can create a new after school soccer program that will promote physical activity, team camaraderie and a fun learning environment. Hopefully, this will blossom into an official school soccer team.
Thank you for your support!
