This classroom project was brought to life by Allstate Foundation and 5 other donors.Music Instruments for Our Students
Funded Jan 24, 2020Upon receiving the instruments, our students were so happy and eager to use them that decided to add a Latin style song to the repertoire right away. They selected unanimously the all time favorite Guantanamera.
The day the instruments arrived, our kids could hardly contain their excitement as they unboxed the instruments and experimented with the new resources. They understood at that moment they were being held in high regard by a community that may not know who they are but understand how important they are.
We had specific and detailed lessons on the newer instruments such as the timbales and trombones and made sure they understood the concepts and began a proper routine for caring, practicing, and performing. The song was almost ready to perform by the time we had to break for COVID 19 regulations. Our plan is to record remotely the song and put it together in a video. We are so very grateful to all of the donors for valuing music education.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Anonymous Arts Supporter and 7 other donors. The Sound of Musical Theater.
Funded Oct 24, 2018We can assure you that we are utilizing these resources to the max and feel tremendous pride to have acquire professional grade equipment to bring our craft in musical theater to the next level.
Our students were shocked when they first saw the microphone system and couldn't contain their excitement as they waited for me to connect each one of them and run a sound check.
After giving our students a proper training on how to handle and take care of the mics we proceeded to equip them and they were even more effective and committed to the project when they heard their voices travel and fill the whole theater as they performed two scenes for our Christmas concert.
The next step for our students is to finish preparing Annie Kids, the musical, and present it in March with the help of this wireless microphone system as we grow in the process and take advantage of all the benefits that this art form provides.
Once again we thank you for you generosity and commitment to our children's education.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Chevron Fuel Your School.Singing the Blues with Hurricane Irma.
Funded Mar 2, 2018PodsWe awaited for the donations with great expectation and upon arrival our students were as excited as Christmas morning. We received the three Pods we requested and as we set them up with new accounts and passwords we were brainstorming about the limitless possibilities these devices could assist us with. The countless music apps available, many of which are free, open new horizons to our group to excel and we could only imagine how much faster we could learn and put together songs for our band.
Right from the start we used the three Pods to learn challenging harmonies. Our singers recorded their individual parts and kept the Pods over the weekend and they came confident and ready for the next rehearsal. Next, our guitar players used the Pods not just as a tool to help learn their solos and chord progressions but also as an incentive to take home such cool gadgets as rewards for their hard work. All of our group members take turns in using the Pods and our band has never sounded better.
These Pods have been helpful in more ways that you can imagine. Our students have greatly benefited from your kind donation at the same time as they learned how private companies and organizations go the extra mile to help them succeed.”

An iPad Pro for our Music Class!
Funded Nov 28, 2016I cannot begin to thank you enough for the wonderful materials you have provided me for my class. Bringing a new iPad Pro into my classroom has taken my music instruction to a whole other level. My students are engaged and learning! They are creating, recording and editing music with ease, all while having a great time. Using programs like GarageBand they can record sections of music, and edit it as well. They can also create musical loops and even write their own music and lyrics using the stylus, brainstorming songs as they go. The speakers on the iPad Pro are so wonderful, they can play along with songs from Riff Station in groups without using headphones. This is an amazing tool, and I am so incredibly thankful to you for helping me bring this technology into my classroom.
It doesn't take much for my students to get excited when technology is involved... but when they saw all the wonderful things they can do with the iPad, their creativity has truly let loose. Many of them have dreamed of, or at least considered the path of, becoming Music Producers, and I am so glad to be able to give them a taste of what that's like. Since a lot of the Apps we use in class are similar to what many producers in the industry are using. Many of them have been inspired by the opportunity to use these tools, and have been creating some good music. I am very proud of what they have accomplished.
Music is a class most students enjoy, but it is so great to see them all enjoying and engaged on different levels. I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity you have granted my class. Thank you so much!!!!”

Performing with Apps
Funded Jan 26, 2016Thank you, again, so much, for your generous donation. Our new iPad Mini has come at the perfect time to add a whole new level of how we learn in our music classroom. Students are engaged and motivated! Some are able to use the iPad to do projects or assignments during class without disturbing others, also thanks to the awesome wireless headphones. Our modern band group has also greatly benefited from the iPad and headphones because when we are learning a new song, I can set it up for certain parts to practice or listen to their part while I work with other students. It is undeniable that technology truly is the key to the future of our children. Thank you so much!!!!!”

We Become Brave by Performing Brave Actions.
Funded Oct 29, 2013Having received these instruments has positively impacted our students and our music program. The kids constantly ask to play different songs with the new instruments and want to learn more styles that include Djembes, Steel drums, and Ukuleles. We have traveled around the world finding new sounds and researched cultures that use these rhythms. Our students are amazed every time they play the steel drum and produce such incredible sound combining chords and rhythm, and together with the djembes and ukuleles we have been able to form a Caribbean beat band.
We are forever grateful for your donation and encourage you to maintain your dedication to the arts and our children's education.”

Funded Nov 24, 2013Your generosity is very much appreciated, our students are making use of this resource and taking advantage of the benefits it provides. We use Finale14 on a daily base in our school. When we first ordered it our idea was to use it as a tool to compose and arrange 2-4 part songs for the string orchestra as well as creating practice patters to assist the students with their proficiency. We have learned that this software has benefited not only our string program as it was intended but also we have expanded the use of it to all the other classes and grade levels. Now all of our 2nd thorough 5th grade students that receive general music education are also being exposed to music composition and notation with the help of your donation.
We are most grateful for your help and encourage you to keep music programs running with resourced such as this one.”
