What Do You Work For?
Funded Jan 15, 2018The kids are enjoying working for popcorn, Ringpops, and cookies! We were so excited to have new sticker charts and stickers! When I opened the box the students were all smiles! One student even said, "Wow, look at all those stickers!" With your help, we are currently working on mastering the alphabet. I've created games and puzzles with the Velcro from our project. The students really love the new materials, Alphapops is a new favorite! Thank you for your generosity. My students and I thrive on donors such as yourself.”

Social Skills Development
Funded Feb 14, 2017When the students noticed I had boxes delivered, they couldn't wait to see what arrived courtesy of donors such as yourself! As I opened the materials, I allowed them time to explore! Their faces were filled with joy as I told them these items are available for their use!
My students and I are using the fidget toys to help them focus and calm down. One of my students was feeling overwhelmed after taking a test, thankfully he was able to calm down with the use of the kinetic sand. Another student was able to actively participate in Social Skills group by holding a puffer ball in his hands. Fidget toys such as these are such an asset for a special education teacher.
We look forward to developing and enhancing social skills.”

This classroom project was brought to life by State Farm and one other donor.Help Me Create a Therapeutic Environment
Funded Aug 11, 2016My students eyes lit up as they saw the boxes arrive in my room!
My students are thoroughly enjoying the sensory materials. The light covers created such a peaceful environment. I've had lots of positive feedback from students and staff about them! The dry erase board is also coming in very handy during class! We are also using the dry erase board for processing and problem solving.
Thank you for your donation to our project! My students and I have 2 other live projects. Please donate to them if you can.”

Practice, Practice, Practice...Math!
Funded Jan 7, 2016My students were so excited to receive the new materials for math stations! We are using the file folder games for math stations. The students are thrilled be able to rotate stations as part of our daily schedule.
As I unpacked the file folder games, their smiles lit up the room! Almost immediately, the students asked me when they could begin using these resources.
As a former math teacher you can understand the key to learning math is to practice math. Thanks to your donation, my students with special needs are now able to apply and practice the concepts and strategies necessary to be successful in mathematics.”

Storage, Bins, and Carts...Oh my!
Funded Nov 25, 2015My students and I are using the resources to organize school supplies and math materials. Because of your donation, the students can access supplies with ease. Your donation, helped solve an organizational dilemma since I share my classroom with another teacher.
My students were so excited when they saw the new storage carts in class for the first time! They even volunteered to pass out materials to each other, and clean up the materials too. Thank you for not allowing them to feel pride and value!
Math may not be their favorite subject, but they enjoy being independent in my class. Now I can firmly say my room, has place for everything, and everything in it's place.”
