  • Let's Talk About You and Me, Let's Talk About Feelings!

    Funded May 7, 2021

Because of your generosity, I am able to provide books, posters, and games to help students with special needs develop social and emotional skills.

The books are so helpful, when a student needs a reminder about appropriate social skills we read a book together! The posters serve as visual reminders.

The games and puzzles help us learn about emotions. We practice taking turns with the new game and it has been a hit!

Thanks again for your donation and for supporting children with special needs.”

    Mrs. Rodriguez

  • All by Myself

    Funded Aug 25, 2020

My students and I are using the resources to develop and strengthen number sense. My students were enthusiastic when I told them that their new materials were provided by generous donors. We have utilized the keys and cubes to practice skip counting. We also use them to sort and solve word problems.

Thanks to you, the students I serve have their own individual supplies.

Check back on my project page for more ways to support students with special needs during the pandemic.

For all you are, for all that you do, thank you!”

Thanks again for investing on our future! It feels so good to be supported by our community! The students were so excited when we unboxed your donations!

We are learning to rote count and count with 1 to 1 correspondence with the use of the tactile number lines! The Alphabots and Numberbots are such a great resource for learning through play. The find the number is such a fun way to explore numerals.

    Funded Jun 26, 2020

I can't thank you enough for the selfie light and the ipad mount. They both came in handy during remote learning and instruction. Now that we are back to in person learning, the students and I are using the paper and folders in our everyday learning. We use the spiral notebooks for our Writing and Math journals.

My students and their families are so thankful for your generosity. It is especially wonderful to have the support of our community during these unprecedented times.

It was such an amazing feeling to have everything the students needed from remote to in person learning!

The students were so excited to see their boxes full of supplies! So far, a favorite item has been the pencil sharpeners. It was a huge relief to their parents as well, especially during COVID. I even have enough pencils to replenish them for this semester!

  • Positive Reinforcers Rule!

    Funded Nov 20, 2019

The thermal laminate pouches and ink will helped me create token economy systems. My students are excited to earn fruit snacks and stickers as positive reinforcers. My students look forward to that positive reinforcement because it makes them feel good, and causes them to want to perform well.

These materials will made a difference because they already had a purpose. My students will earn stickers on their charts for completing work tasks, when their charts are full they will be able to select a reward!

Thank you for your kind donation. You are making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.”

  • Sensory Solutions

    Funded Jul 27, 2019

This project has created the opportunity for students to utilize alternative seating such as wobble cushions and wobble chairs allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Making sure students are comfortable and allowing them to self manage their needs is an essential component in motivating them.

I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given an opportunity to get their energy out with chewable jewelry, stress relief balls, or with the use of a weighted blanket.

This project helped my students by giving them options to take more roles in managing their sensory needs.”
