  • Help! I Need To Be Able To Learn At HOME!

    Funded Jul 28, 2020

Wow! I am so excited to have this project funded! There are so many things that are uncertain about this upcoming school year and it is a relief to know that my Kinders will have the supplies that they need to learn at home! Thank you so much for helping to set a strong foundation for them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • "LEGO" and Do STEM Learning at Home!

    Funded May 5, 2020

I don't even know where to begin to thank you. My materials arrived in 2 days after being funded. I was able to show the kids this great surprise when we held our zoom class meeting. They were very excited and were able to pick out which LEGO set they wanted. The parents came by the school to pick them up and the students have had a great time working on them. This distance learning has been hard for many of my kiddos because many do not have the resources or the help at home to do "at home" learning. Knowing they had these sets to work on set my mind at ease because I knew I was "sneaking" in some great STEM resources for them to have continued access to. I have gotten many notes and pictures from the parents. Every one of them are very appreciative of this resource. Thank you for making this available to my kids.”

  • Riding the Bench!

    Funded Sep 21, 2019

Thank you so much for the donations for this project. It has been so nice for the students to have a place to put their personal items, now that winter coats, gloves and scarves are being worn. I really appreciate the opportunity you have given me to provide this for my kiddos. I have always wanted to do anything g possible to make them feel welcomed and feel like my classroom is their second home. This addition has helped to make that possible.

Your support of public education is greatly appreciated! Thank you!”

  • Don't TABLE That Idea!

    Funded Dec 31, 2018

Thank you so much for funding this project to put extra resources into my classroom. The need for alternative desks for my classroom was great and these have helped my students so much. It is hard for all students to be asked/required to sit in the same type of chairs at the same type of tables. My students all have unique personalities and I like to be able to provide unique places for them to do their work. I appreciate you allowing me to present my students with this opportunity. Thank you for supporting my classroom and public education!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Magnetic Personalities

    Funded Jan 29, 2019

I am so excited to have these extra magnetic resources in my classroom. My children have enjoyed having them and using them during class lessons. These hands-on materials were very much needed to help my students master many of the basic skills they will need to move on to first grades. It is fun to see them "playing" and learning at the same time! I appreciate the opportunity you have given me to share this with my students. Thank you for your support of me and of public education. Two thumbs up from my class!”

  • I Can Hear You Now!

    Funded Jul 3, 2018

I wish I could adequately explain the joy of seeing the students playing their favorite game, loving every minute of it, yet me not having to hear the noise of a lot of computers at the same time. I has been so nice to have a computer work station that doesn't disturb the rest of the class while students work on their programs. A kindergarten room can be very noisy and the added noise of computer games often was more of a problem than a solution. But not now!!! Thank you so much for providing me this wonderful resource for my classroom!”

  • Seat Sack Attack

    Funded May 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your help in funding this wonderful resource. As a teacher, organization is a must...especially with Kindergarten. Transition time can make a classroom go into chaos but with these seat sacks that problem is easily solved. It is so nice to have each student be able to stay in their seat and put their papers and pencil boxes away. It not only saves on instructional time, but it also helps the students stay organized. My students and I really appreciate all of your support”

  • Nothing Secret About Coding

    Funded May 8, 2018

Thank you so much for your help in funding this project. Botley the robot is a great way for my students to learn coding. What a great experience it is for them to have the opportunity to learn coding at such a young age, and in such a fun way! We are just doing the basics now but we can't wait to see how far we will go by the end of the school year. I am sure he will be a favorite station to visit all year long.

I appreciate your help in supporting me and my students as well as Public Education.”

  • Osmo For Me...and Osmo For You!

    Funded May 18, 2018

Thank you so much for your help in funding this project for my class. The students have already started to use the Osmo system and it is obviously a favorite! It is a great way to help the students with learning their letters and numbers in a fun and exciting way. I feel so lucky to have this resource in my classroom. The children can't wait for it to be their turn to use them. What a great way for us to start off our school year! Thank you for supporting me and for supporting public education!”

  • A Magnetic Personality

    Funded Mar 20, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation that funded my projects. Magnets are always a fun unit to do with kindergarten children and this year it was great because we had new and exciting materials to use. The children had so much fun making castles and robots. I always love to see their imagination take off when they have new toys. It is fun to play and learn at the same time!

These magnets have been a great addition to our classroom. Thank you again for all you have done to make learning fun for my kids.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

I work in an inner city school, with an 85% free lunch rate and at a school that struggles to meet state standards. As teachers, we hate to see our students struggle more than they need to. Often the struggle helps them learn but it often frustrates them. As I look at how we have taught in the past and I see how the children struggle to pass the state tests I just wonder if it is time for us, the teachers, to be the change and struggle a little and find a new way to teach. It is frustrating sometimes to try new things, but often in the process we can learn a better way to help the kids learn. As frustrating as it is to come up with new and creative ways to teach, it is what the kids NEED. They NEED our fresh ideas, creative projects and new approaches to teaching...or else many of them don't stand a chance! We can't be the ones to stand in their way, we are their hope..time to pull out a new bag of tricks!
