By funding this project, you will be providing students with learning disabilities the ability to access Nevada Academic Content Standards. Grade level content will now be accessible through assistive technology, hands-on manipulative development, and sensory and executive functioning supports. Research shows that these visual, tangible, and interactive supports, combined with explicit instruction, help bridge the gap between a students' missed learning opportunities and the potential they are capable of attaining. Due to the missed learning opportunities from Covid-19, it is more important than ever to be able to provide a variety of instructional methods for our students. Headphones with microphones will help students with learning disabilities access 'text to speech' and 'speech to text' programs. Tangible math supports reinforce students' foundational math skills and structured phonemic awareness activities ignite the confidence within each student and their reading abilities.
