  • Refreshed Classroom Library and Classroom Environment

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for your support. The success of my students is my greatest wish. Your support is going to help make that wish a reality. I promise, your contribution will be beyond appreciated by my students as well. They are such amazing students and will be so happy.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • Preparing for Social Distancing

    Funded Sep 17, 2020

The students in my classroom appreciated all of the materials they were given. Post COVID, the funds have been very small and with your support, they had the supplies they needed and felt like they were coming into a classroom that was inviting and comfortable. Your donations helped us to create a fresh environment with accessible supplies to help with their daily success. The chair organizers especially, were very convenient for them to keep their supplies organized and the insides of their desks nice and neat. They were able to keep the classroom clean and pretty.”

  • Novels for Scholars

    Funded Mar 8, 2018

Thank you for your generosity to my class. The impact that these books have had on my students is astounding. They have found a love for reading that wasn't there before. We now see a difference in their writing responses and excitement for coming into class reading for reading workshop and independent reading. All of them now say that they LOVE James Patterson. It is people like you who go out of their way to help these children that would not otherwise have the materials needed, that reminds me that there is good out there.

My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • Our S.W.A.T. Team Science Fair

    Funded May 10, 2017

My students had such a great time! They learned so much about science and how things work. They were able to host the fair and participate at the same time. They shared their knowledge with other students and created an environment where other students were excited to participate. It was an amazing feeling, seeing them soar and their excitement. Thank you so much for your support and thoughtfulness. It meant a lot to the students at Oakside to have someone go out of their way to make their experience as memorable as it was. I know they moved onto 4th grade taking with them a lifetime of knowledge and memories.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • Brain-Friendly, Blended Environment

    Funded Mar 21, 2016

The class that you donated to benefited so greatly by opening up the room and working in a blended environment. These English language learners are making major strides. They have learned to work independently and efficiently with little to no distraction. We appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness. Please enjoy the photos of our students working hard on their new bean bags and pillows. Your donation has made a difference in the lives of these children more than I could ever explain in a letter. They deserve it!”

  • Researchers in Need

    Funded Sep 22, 2015

It has been amazing watching my students take photos and videos. The excitement that they show, is inspirational. These are students who do not have many opportunities to express themselves. Through their photography of school events, they have learned what it is like to capture the moments that they will remember for an entire life to come. Your generosity has brought an excitement for learning into our classroom. We cannot express our thanks gratitude enough. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We hope you enjoy the photos that we have taken using our new camera.”

  • Desperate Newspaper Club Needs Technology

    Funded Apr 24, 2015

I want to start by saying that my students appreciate you so much! They understand the generosity and thoughtfulness you have showed. They are very aware of their surroundings and know that they do not have many opportunities. They are already using these Chromebooks in groups to write their stories. They are more motivated and excited about writing now. This was the motivation for being creative and using their skills to build stories full of informational text. These students deserve the best opportunities and they now will have many more.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • Newspaper Club Needs Help

    Funded Dec 2, 2013

Since we have received our copier we have been very pleased to distribute our newspaper in color and to have the ability to send one home with each student in the school. That is a luxury we did not have in the past. We post color copies in halls and announcement areas for visitors to view. Also, each member of the newspaper club receives a color copy. They get very excited every time we produce a paper. I have found that this gift has brought excitement back to the newspaper club. The attendance has been perfect and the drive for these students to complete projects has really progressed. They all want to finish a story so we can release another paper.

Your generosity has opened doors for us that we never imagined we would have access to. We are grateful for the opportunity to use creativity and enhance our learning. One student even said "I didn't know that people would just give money to help schools". She now is heading off a campaign to raise money for Parkinson's disease. That was inspired by your generosity and consideration. I hope you all understand what you have done and how you have made a difference to children who do not have many reason to believe in such things.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • PBIS Needs Help!

    Funded Mar 31, 2013

With our new projector, or PBIS assemblies have become exciting and empowering. The students appreciate the visuals and absolutely love seeing themselves on the screen. Our students are so full of life and wonder, they deserve to have something to be excited about. This projector has become a way for us to open up new the imaginations of our young children. The videos and PowerPoint we watch during our assemblies have become exciting. They actually used to hate the assemblies, now they get excited every month knowing we will be having one.

    Thank you for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria

  • 21st Century Here We Come

    Funded Mar 11, 2013

We would like to thank you for your generosity and consideration. We have enjoyed using the iPad during instruction. We would not have this opportunity had you not been so gracious and donated on our behalf. Our students have been using it during small group instruction for reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Students enjoy going onto Raz-Kids and reading or going onto the maps application and exploring the world. It is amazing when kids who have never left their community can see what it is like on the other side of the country. We have used it for skyping with classes across the world and have enjoyed every second of it. It is caring people like you who remind us that public school is still valued. By donating to our cause, you have opened up a world that we would not have otherwise been able to see.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Chavarria
