Pull Up a Seat and Learn Something New!
Funded Dec 28, 2023Your generous donation to my classroom project has truly impacted my students. These new flexible seating options help to provide students with the opportunity to be self-advocates and choice makers! They love selecting their seat for an activity. In collaboration with my classroom occupational therapist, we selected seating options that would help my students meet their sensory needs while in the classroom. For my special students, that means they are able to focus and learn! I learned from my occupational therapist that this is called "proprioceptive input", and it is a difference maker in my classroom!
Thank you so very much for believing in my amazing students and providing them with this amazing opportunity to learn.”

Sensory Tools for Special Learners.
Funded Aug 25, 2023Thanks to your generosity, I have been able to provide my students with countless new sensory-based activities within my classroom. The materials purchased through this project helped to create centers that align with ELA, math, SEL, and science while meeting the needs of my kinesthetic learners. My amazing little learners look forward to using the sensory tables to find new vocabulary words. They can't wait to see what is in the table each week! Whether the table is filled with sand, play-doh, beans, or kinetic sand, it is sure to provide countless learning opportunities for my special friends. The sensory tables also provide my students with opportunities for turn-taking, sharing, and positive verbal exchanges. I can't thank you enough for providing my classroom with such valuable materials.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 9 other donors. We've got the "Write" Stuff...We Just Need the Right Board!
Funded Feb 7, 2023I truly cannot express the impact your donation has made on our classroom. Having a whiteboard in our classroom has been a lifesaver!
It is used daily in a variety of different ways. My special learners are engaged in learning thanks to the visuals that I can provide them during activities. This whiteboard moves around our classroom and every child benefits from it in some way. Visuals and anchor charts are hung using magnets and every child takes a turn being the teacher during our phonics lessons.
When I ask my students to complete an activity, there is an added element of fun when they get the opportunity to write on the whiteboard. One of my students loves the whiteboard so much, he earns his checkmarks, and using the whiteboard is his reward!
Your generosity has truly made a difference in the ways I can help my amazing students. Thank you for helping me help my amazing students.”

A Cozy Place for Social Emotional Learning
Funded Sep 29, 2022I can't thank you enough for your donation to my classroom project. Your donations provided a beautiful rug which has become one of my students' favorite places to relax. It is the perfect place to do some morning yoga or read a book. Your donations also helped to purchase sensory toys and other activities which help my amazing students calm their bodies and their minds throughout the day. It is because of your generosity that I can focus on the social and emotional well-being of my very special learners every day.
We are forever grateful to you.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Classroom Supporter and 3 other donors.Classroom in a Bag!
Funded Sep 13, 2020When I first saw that people had donated to my project, I was beyond excited. I could see my vision of creating a "classroom in a bag" for each of my students becoming a reality!
Being a classroom teacher during a pandemic is no easy task. Students are no longer allowed to share supplies due to health and safety guidelines. This can be quite challenging. My students, who have been classified with Autism Spectrum Disorder require a variety of hands-on materials to engage them during instruction. Despite the circumstances, they all deserve to have everything they need to learn.
Having these materials to help my students has been a huge support. Children are being taught like never before, and the materials that were provided through Donors Choose have helped me in teaching my students both in school and at home during remote learning. This would not be possible without your generous donations.
When I opened all of the supplies, Lateik was so excited when I told him that he would be bringing some of them home. Each child received a large storage bag filled with supplies and hands-on materials. I never realized how exciting it would be for the students and the staff to unpack all of our brand new learning materials! Max couldn't wait to open the teddy bear counters and Dansee was amazed at the amount of pretend money he would be taking home. He loves to practice his money skills!
There has never been a greater focus on keeping our students safe and healthy as there is at this very moment. Your donations allowed me to keep my students healthy while continuing to challenge them with engaging activities.
Once again, I thank you for your very generous donations. With your help, I can support my students and their families during this difficult time of blended learning.”
