Simple Technology for Virtual Learning
Funded Nov 27, 2020The OKIOLABS OKIOCAM USB 2-in-1 Webcam and Document Camera was a blessing for virtual learning during the pandemic. For Distance Learning it was used in a multifaceted manner. I used it for video conferencing, remote working, stop motion, time lapse, overhead video recording, which was clear due to its super high definition 1440p resolution.
As for the OneOdio Computer Headsets with Microphone, it gave me clear audio and comfort for a whole day of distance learning. This PC Wired Headphones with Detachable Mic & in-Line Control Mute was exactly what I need for zoom classes. Students were able to hear me very clearly even when I wasn't wearing it.
Thanks again for making this possible during these difficult times.”

Funded Nov 8, 2019Thank you so much for your generous gift of the Epson ET-4760 printer! The students use computers in class every day to accomplish assigned tasks and sometimes need a printer to print out their work for display. Students can make posters that are more presentable and nicer to look at when sharing it with others. In some cases, the color is important for clarity. For example, when displaying graphs and charts.
We have used the printer to make our classroom really nice and bright with colored pictures and charts to help us remember important science information. I also put quotes on the wall to boost student's confidence, and hang up their pictures when they get awards such as, "student of the month" and "Dojo points".
For their Social Studies class, the students were able to print out our colored pictures. So this printer doesn't just help us in our Science class but in all our classes. the students are excited to use the printer to print out our lab reports so that they are colorful and presentable.”

Funded Apr 2, 2019Words cannot express my gratitude for your unselfish support for funding our project. I try to offer many different opportunities to my students and your support will continue to make it possible. The laptops that you have provided for my students will allow them to seamlessly connect to their EV3 robots and programming them. They are able to collaborate on their project for competition.
The two laptops will make it much easier for the students to collaborate on putting together the research presentation. This enabled students to work on their google slide presentation concurrently. Students can also participate in virtual discussions after school before going home.
In addition, the laptops are small, light, fast and portable. They were able to print wirelessly to printers in other locations in the building effortlessly which made it convenient, saving valuable time.”

Funded May 6, 2015My students were graciously overwhelmed by this generous gift. I was asked to convey their gratitude. They began assembling the pieces immediately to build the humanoid robot as seen in the photos. They worked diligently for 2 hours per week for three week consecutive weeks. The students taught themselves how to program the humanoid robot by reading the resource books that was included in the kit.
However, this was for fun so the humanoid robot was dismantled to build a more practical robot. This new robot was built in anticipation for the 2015 FLL Robotics competition. They are now practicing writing programs to be more competent and comfortable with the new EV3 system.
The students are now more confident now that they are more equipped to be competitive now that they have access to the most up to date equipments. Again, my students and I are very grateful and thus will continue to utilize all equipments received from your organization.”
