  • Supplies to Organize

    Funded Aug 22, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my students. It is difficult for my inner-city students to succeed academically given the many challenges they face outside of school. Your donations is giving them an advantage they so badly need. I sincerely thank you with all my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lissauer

  • A Calming Space Where Minds Can Grow

    Funded Jan 25, 2022

Your generous donation could not have come at a better time. Just this week, two students lost members of their immediate family, and 1 student had to excuse herself from the class because she was experiencing a panic attack. I can’t wait to send you pictures of the new calming space. The students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lissauer

  • Decorate to Motivate!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. My attendance rate has increased since your donations brought my students closer to the learning space they deserve. They come to class ready and exited to learn. They especially love the new blow-up chairs and cherry blossom garlands that hang around the room. Students have also been spending their lunches in my room because of the warm and welcoming environment you helped to create. As a result, I have been able to provide tutoring and makeup assignments for students who have been out due to the omicron variant. I could not have done this without your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lissauer

  • Decorate to Motivate: Encouraging Success in the New Normal

    Funded Jun 10, 2021

I am grateful and humbled by the generosity you showed to my students by supporting my project. The looks on their faces when they come into a brand new, cool, fun, and space space will make it all worth while. Knowing that someone cares enough about their education and emotional well-being sticks with them through the school year and beyond. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lissauer

My students are good-natured people, but many of them lack the motivation to succeed academically. My goal is to transform my social studies classroom into a place where students WANT to be, rather than where they HAVE to be. A classroom that gives them a choice of where and how to sit according to how they work best is the first step in what will hopefully be not just a transformation of their learning space, but of their perception of education as well. I want my students to enter my classroom feeling like they are important individuals who matter and have the ability to make the world a better place if they try hard to succeed.
