We are a multicultural, multilingual, student body with varied backgrounds. While my students do live less than five miles from the beach, many have never been. Most get enough to eat with help from free and reduced lunch and plenty of love from their families. However, most do not receive the academic vocabulary, support and input needed to compete in our ever increasing competitive society. I currently have 28 students in my public school classroom with variety abilities and needs. Two with diagnosed ADHD, one with diagnosed Aspergers Syndrome, 5 with Individualized Education Plans, those in the middle and those well beyond their years. Each has his/her own needs and personalities and we are learning to work together as a team!!
