  • Preserving Our Words!

    Funded Jul 9, 2015

It is so wonderful to be able to create a word wall and have all the materials right at your fingertips. Thank you so much for your kindness. We are filled with gratitude that people want us to be a success. The words my students are creating with these materials will make them awesome writers. The neon sentence strips make the words stand out and makes it very easy to sort the words into categories. The students were so excited when they saw the pretty colors and got to put them on the board. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Greene

  • Teach for the Planet on the Friendly Beaches

    Funded Jun 4, 2015

Thank you so much for making it possible to receive this grant. The students love learning about the ocean. Seeing them work together to complete this puzzle made me so proud of them and it made them proud of themselves. They love reading about the ocean and they absolutely love exploring the theme box. We have been documenting our adventures on the go pro camera and look forward to conducting many experiments on how to save the ocean. We are filled with appreciation and gratitude for the kindness you have shown us.”

  • The Place ALL Will Go!

    Funded Feb 11, 2015

I received an ipad in order to learn about the different ways I can differentiate instruction. I have downloaded the books and have been reading them to get ideas. The ipad has made it easily accessible. I am able to read the books on breaks, waiting for my meal, waiting for the doctor. No time is wasted. I have learned how to compact the curriculum for my high students and have them do higher order thinking projects while I am working with my lower ones. I have a few that don't know their numbers, others are adding and subtracting correctly in their head. There is a huge difference and these books are a great help.”

  • You Just Have to Wiggle!

    Funded Apr 30, 2015

My kids were so excited to get our fifth hokki stool. We have been using them for computers and for small group instruction. The students love them and I can see a big difference in how they focus.. We also use these stools for testing. They were so excited when I brought in this box. We now have two large hokki stools for my taller students. They love that they don't have to scrunch over. Knowing that there are people out there who care so much about them and their future motivates them to work even harder and I love seeing that in my students!”

  • STEM Scientists

    Funded Apr 24, 2015

My students absolutely love science this year so this STEM bundle was perfect. The boxes came in and the students were so excited they couldn't wait to open them. We waited until all the boxes came in and opened them up one Friday afternoon. I heard "Hooray! So cool and awesome". We set up stations so they got to experience everything and they moved to experience each project. It was great, they were motivated and noisy but it was a good noise. Thank you so much for helping them, we appreciate your kindness.”

  • Financially Literate Students Shopping for Supplies!

    Funded Mar 30, 2015

My students always get so excited when I bring a box into the classroom. This happened over a few days and we opened up one box at a time. They were very excited when they saw the crayons, and the pencils. They led out a cheer when they saw the journals. The students were very excited to see that I took their suggestions seriously and got them the materials they needed to be a success. Thank you so much for helping me make this project a reality. Some have already earned crayons and are on their way to earning the writing journal.”

  • Financially Literate First Graders!

    Funded Mar 18, 2015

My students have been wanting to create their own classroom economy for awhile. Thanks to your donation they were able to make their dream a reality. I left the box in the middle of the room and let the students in the room. The whispers begin and I could hear them asking each other what was in the box. We talked about behavior and how in the world you earn based on your work habits. Then I opened the box and showed them the copy paper and the ink. The grins on their faces and the excitement in their voices was awesome. Thank you,”

  • Wiggle While You Work Again!

    Funded Feb 27, 2015

I brought in our fourth hokki stool. The students noticed that it was bigger then the first three. So we did some experimentation to find out which students could be comfortable on this stool. My taller ones appreciated the bigger stool. They loved that they could be more comfortable while they were learning. These stools are great. We came up with a system where everyone will get a stool at least once a week. During tests, certain students will use these stools to help them focus and stay on task.”

  • Full Bellies Equal Active MInds!

    Funded Feb 21, 2015

The day after we received this package, one of my students came in late. She was lethargic and not acting like her usually sweet self. I finally got her to admit she didn't have breakfast. I gave her a fiber one bar. A few of my sweeties have had coughs all year. I made sure they all got a bottle of water. They are in charge of it. They have times to fill it. They also know that if they spill it more then once then they get the water bottle taken away. They were very excited to have this responsibility.”

  • Wanted: Financial Literacy

    Funded Feb 14, 2015

The kids love it when I bring in a box. They never know what we might get! They loved the money puzzles and couldn't wait to use them! Once I showed them it was two sided and to make sure the colors matched, they ran with it! I had two that worked together until everything was completed. The shopping game is interactive and the kids love it. They were so excited when they saw all the prizes they could earn through our financial literacy program. Thank you so much for your kindness and making this project a reality.”
