I teach a class of 20 "Stellar Second" graders. They are loving, intelligent, kind, and funny. They come to school wanting to learn and willing to work.
My students come from diverse backgrounds, and many come from families at lower income levels. My class has English language learners and students with special needs such as autism, ADD, and ADHD. Some come from challenging home environments and have limited resources at home. Despite their efforts and good intentions, many of my students do not have the basic help or supplies they need to excel socially, emotionally, or academically. Nevertheless, one thing they all have in common is that they are eager to learn. And I intend to do everything in my power to help them learn, grow, and flourish!
