  • Rebuilding a Library

    Funded Aug 29, 2019

I cannot express how humbled I was when you helped to fund my recent project. Because of your donations, my classroom is nearly complete. The skills that my students will develop from having these new scripts and monologue books will be incredibly valuable. They will be able to learn such things are character development, understanding how to break down a script, and plot structure.

Reading in my classroom looks a bit different than most. Most of my students are actors and are constantly working on sharpening their skills. Reading for them is finding new scripts and monologues to memorize or reading a play to understand the intent behind a monologue that they have chosen for a contest. Students will also work on learning how to trim a script down to fit within a certain time perimeter.

My Competitive Speech and Drama students have really enjoyed having these new books. They were excitedly flipping through them and using sticky notes to indicate which new pieces they would like me to print out for them. It was invigorating to see them see excited about new materials and already working on how to become better competitors because of them. I again cannot thank you enough for your continued support of the students and myself.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Mitchell

  • A Place to Write

    Funded Dec 7, 2018

We are thrilled with our tables! We recently were able to have a cast dinner during one of our technical rehearsals for our play because of your donations! Typically this is done with cast sitting in chairs scattered around the room and no one is really connecting with each other. Because of you and your donation, we have been able to really connect as a cast and crew. My regular Drama 1 classes have been able to more partner work because of tables, they were able to sit down together and brainstorm ideas for their recent Radio Drama Unit.

My students were overjoyed when they walked on it on January 8th and saw the new tables. They were happy to finally have a place to write and that they won't need to be a clipboard or textbook as a hard surface anymore. One decided that they wanted to try and take a nap on one, sadly to their dismay they were not able to. Haha!

My regular Drama 1 classes are not working together in preparation for their Shakespeare performances which will be held at the end of the month! They are working in teams to create different adaptations of the classic Macbeth! It's amazing seeing these young people work and see them strive for great things! It's all thanks to you and your devotion to helping public education. Thank you so much for all you've done and continue to do!”

    With gratitude,

  • The Finishing Touch

    Funded Aug 24, 2017

Words cannot begin to describe the impact your contribution has had on my drama program. Thanks to your selfless giving we have been able to successfully pull off our first theater season complete with actual sets, makeup, and costumes. The pictures you will see are from moments through out our season. We performed some of the classics this year from A Christmas Carol to A Midsummer Nights Dream! You'me generous acts helped us do this.

The students were overjoyed when the items began arriving they knew that they finally were going to be able to do a proper theatre season. One of my stage craft students exclaimed, "we can actually build a set now!" And that we did, they are excited for the future of the program. They are already planning for next years sets and I cannot wait to get started myself.

With the items that we received my students will be able to further their mastery of the theatrical arts and expand their resumes. This will help them be more of a contender when it comes to time to start applying for scholarships and auditioning/interviewing at various universities. They finally a fire burning inside them for theatre and I am beyond thrilled to see it growing brighter and brighter everyday.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Mitchell
