Flamenco Dance Shoes
Funded May 4, 2023I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for helping us reach our goal quickly and allow my dancers the opportunity to perform like the budding artists they are. Your generosity and thoughtfulness have left me truly amazed and grateful. Receiving the shoes, allowing the dancers to practice and perform in them, coupled with our world class teaching artists and community partners had a profound impact on me and my students.
Not only is it an invaluable tool that will undoubtedly benefit these young dancers, but it also serves as a testament to your kindness and willingness to support others. Your gesture has provided me with a significant opportunity to impress the importance of community, culture, and artistry for these high schoolers.
The dancers were absolutely thrilled and beyond grateful for the gifts! As young dancers, your gesture has reminded them that thoughtfulness can provide a renewed sense of motivation and inspiration. Your support means the world to us, and we cannot thank you enough for recognizing our passion.
This gift will undoubtedly enhance their dancing journey and serve as a constant reminder of your belief in their abilities. We are truly fortunate to have you in our corner. As we gear up for the next year and secure our community partners and guest artists, you have opened a door for my students to learn other Latin and Ballroom styles. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Blanchard
Dance Performance Costumes: Setting Our Department Up for Success
Funded Apr 17, 2019It is with sincere gratitude that I thank you for donating to the Bronxdale High School's Department of Dance. Without you, we could not have had the stellar performance that we had in the spring of 2019, nor could we begin to build a custom closet for all of our budding choreographers and a future performances. The arts are nothing without the audience to watch and enjoy, and with the help of inspiring additions to our department we are able to extend our ideas beyond the limits of what has once been done.
Additionally, because of your expeditious fulfillment, our dancers had time to work with the costumes which added to their confidence. As a high school dance teacher, it is more than just the steps that matter. Confidence is one of the factors that can turn a performance around.
Your support allows for our dancers to think outside of the atmosphere of our school. One of our tenets is community; having donors from outside of our immediate community capitalizes on how wide that net can be. The dancers have a better understanding of the multiple careers that the arts offer. It was the students who picked the costumes, organized other fundraising efforts, and helped to promote the concert which further streamlines our commit to connect dancers with multiple career options. Also, that agency has made the excitement about performing, outreach, and fundraising a conversation piece at the start of this year.
I would like to thank you once again for your contributions because it helps maintain a legacy. The greatest gift as a teacher is to know that students can make their own way from what has been taught to them, and if having onus over their creativity is the lesson at hand, it truly took a village! I'm so very grateful!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Blanchard
