  • Healthy Choices

    Funded Aug 20, 2016

I want to thank you again for your generous donation to my project. I have been able to empower my students with essential life skills, such as, healthy living, reducing stress and staying focused. These magazines are up-to-date and relevant for teens. There are articles about the dangers of social media, online friends, abusive relationships, and how to turn failures into successes.

My students are thrilled to each have their own copy of this magazine and eagerly await the arrival of the new magazine each month. My students have friendly debates and discussions about some of the articles. Thank you for allowing me to bring significant "life lessons" to help my students' overall well-being.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Long

  • Science World Magazine

    Funded Jun 15, 2016

Thank you so very much for funding my project! Because of your generosity and commitment to education, I can continue to expose my students to a variety of educational experiences. This particular project, I am sure, will have a lasting impact on their lives. Now my students don't have to argue about who will read the Science World Magazine first they each have their own copy! My students and I are truly grateful that you funded this project. Hopefully, experiences and knowledge gained from the magazines will peak their interest and they will continue to pursue educational opportunities in the sciences and maybe even future careers. In the interim, however, the magazines will provide fantastic learning experiences.

When individuals, such as you, give back to the community it is a win-win situation for both parties. Again, on behalf of my students and myself a hearty THANK YOU.”

  • Technology Center

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

Thank you for funding my project. My students are visibly excited when I tell them to go to the computer center! My students also have been able to go on websites such as Scholastic Storyworks and view background information from the magazine writers as well as view video footage that coincides with the Storyworks' articles. Additionally, my students have been able to perform research on high schools as well as complete a college assignment.

The notebook computers that you purchased for my class will continue to help my current and future students succeed for years to come. Thank you again for helping my students have the same experiences as their peers in better funded school districts.”

  • The Rat Stuff

    Funded Aug 25, 2016

AWESOME! Is the word I use to describe the experience that my students had dissecting a rat. I want to thank you personally for making a difference in my students' lives. My students typically have trouble working together peacefully. However, during the rat "autopsy" my students were the picture of collaboration. I am truly grateful for being able to expose them to this experience.

The rats gave my students a chance to view and actually hold in their hands mammalian organs. The rats were a good size and it was easy for my students to identify major organs and the beginning formation of bones and muscles.

You are a kind and generous person and this world is a better place because you are a part of it. Without you none of this would have been possible. I applaud your commitment to education. Because of your generosity, my students can now have the same experiences as their counterparts in "better funded school districts."”

My class was able to partner with Price Waterhouse in teaching elementary school children about economics. Because of your generosity, my students will be able to take virtual classes about future careers, the training/education required, and the potential income from those careers.

The notebook computers that you purchased for my class will continue to help my current and future students succeed for years to come. Thank you again for helping my students have the same experiences as their peers in better funded school districts.”

  • For Your Viewing Pleasure

    Funded Dec 18, 2015

Thank you so very much for funding my project. Because of your generosity, I am able to show all of my students documents when I only have one copy. I have used my document camera for viewing documents, science experiments, and books. My students are fully engaged because of the unique way of lesson delivery. The LCD projector is crystal clear and bright. We can still use the projector even if the room is not completely dark.

The projector is very easy to use. Even my students are able to use it as a demonstration aid. With the LCD projector, my students now get to have a learning experience similar to their peers in better funded school districts. Again, we THANK YOU for the many opportunities that you have made possible for us. This projector will be used for years to come and impact many students' learning experiences.”

  • Scholastic Math Magazine

    Funded Aug 23, 2015

Thank you very much for funding my project! This is the first year that all of my students were able to have a Scholastic Math Magazine. They are very happy and grateful for your generosity.

Because of you, my students can review math concepts and learn new ones using real life situations. There is also an online component that my students use to watch videos and get additional background knowledge. For example, while calculating unit rates, my students were able to watch a video about California's historical drought and apply math concepts.

Again, thank you for choosing our project!”

    With gratitude,

I teach at a large Illinois elementary school. Our population is primarily African American. I teach 7th and 8th grade science. My students are from low income families and are all eligible for free lunch. As a teacher and lover of science, I want to instill that love in my students.
