  • It's Not a TRAP - Don't TABLE This Project!

    Funded Dec 10, 2018

What wonderful news to hear that our project was funded, when I had completely forgotten about it. We've had a busy semester and currently in the last week of classes, which are final exams. You really know how to brighten up the end of our semester and get us excited to start our new year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

  • Putting the MUsic in MUtes - Trumpet Edition

    Funded Nov 16, 2018

How fitting is it that I write this thank you note as we begin our Thanksgiving Break. As much as I am relieved / looking forward to the week of, I'm also excited for our trumpet students to get their hands on their mutes after the break and use them in the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

  • Take a Stand for Music - Part 2

    Funded Sep 18, 2018

Our music stands are being used every day in each of our music classes. Organization and flow of our classes have greatly improved - students have a set location to pick up / put away stands, and the classroom no longer seems cluttered.

Of course our students were excited about our new shiny cart for our music stands. Because it's smaller, it's much more easier to move about the classroom, as well as bringing them outside to use them on the field.

Thank you again for supporting our thriving music program. We've been very fortunate this year to have your contributions matched by the Yamaha Corporation, and will continue to have various project throughout the year. While we understand you may not be able to financially support us on every project, follow us on Facebook/Instagram and share our projects on social media!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

  • Beaters, Strings, and Reeds - Oh My!

    Funded Nov 10, 2018

One of the things I love about this job is the ability to teach different classes with various instruments. The other side of it is that with such a variety of classes, there are many needs for the plethora of instruments involved. This project has the unique ability of individually supporting an aspect of each of our instrumental music classes.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

  • Putting the MUsic in MUtes - Trombone Edition

    Funded Oct 31, 2018

Thank you so much for your support. As a trombone player myself, I am excited for the trombone students. I am also excited to explore more advanced repertoire that call for the use of mutes. I know for sure that these mutes will be put to good use by both our advanced students and beginning students!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

This classroom project was brought to life by Yamaha Corporation of America and one other donor.
  • In TUNE Music For All of Our Ears

    Funded Oct 25, 2018

Thank you for your support in incorporating technology into our music classrooms. These tuners are beneficial to all levels of classes: helping to train and establish a better sense of pitch with our beginners, and honing and perfecting our performance with our advanced students. We can’t wait to begin using them in our classes!”

    Mr. Lee

  • We're HOOKED on Mariachi

    Funded Oct 9, 2018

How auspicious it is that today we got this project fulfilled, and we also got other equipment delivered for other classes. Not only are our students excited to use these new items, but I too am enthusiastic to continue enriching our students lives with a high degree of music education! Thank you so much for your support”

  • Take a STAND for Music at Venice - Part 3

    Funded Sep 27, 2018

Thank you so much for supporting our newest class, Mariachi. How fitting is the completion of this project: instruments are to be delivered in the coming weeks and now they will have a place to live in the classroom. Once again, we will have more upcoming projects, so please feel free to share friends and family!”

  • Take a STAND for Music at Venice part 1

    Funded May 24, 2018

What a wonderful gift that you gave to our students. Not only was the project completed in a matter of hours, but we definitely needed the extra stands for the new school year.

It is NOT an exaggeration when I say that our classes are overflowing - we've had to turn away kids just because we don't have enough instruments for each student.

Now that we have more stands, it's imperative to keep the ball rolling on this project. Part 2 is to request more stands, plus a dolly to store them (rather than have them spread out all over the classroom). Part 2 just went live, and we're already halfway there, so please feel free to share with your friends and family!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee

  • Help Us Be "Vihuela" On Our Way to Starting Mariachi

    Funded Aug 17, 2017

Mariachi Club has officially started! Slowly but surely, students are coming in and learning various instruments. And the best thing is, they're students that aren't in other music ensembles!

Over the course of the year, we've performed at Back to School Night, the annual Grease Night, and local community events. We were able to purchase blue monos, and call ourselves 'Mariachi Gondoleros'.

Our beginning strings class has been very supplemental to the ensemble, where many students who were not previously interested, are looking to perform with the group, and the class always performs a mariachi piece at the end of the year.

We hope to continue this club going and hope to see you at our next performance!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lee
