A Computer for Every Student
Funded Aug 4, 2016Thank you so much for your donation. First of all, my classroom was changed this year so I no longer had any computers in the room. Since I do numerous reading tests, my students were severely impacted. In the area I teach, the average reading level is 4 grades behind grade level. Without a proper way to monitor progress, I felt limited. The use of these computers allows every student access when ready to take reading tests.
In addition, our new textbook has an online component. This will enable us to use this part of the new curriculum. There are very exciting features where students read a news item, respond to that item and then others respond to their responses. The students are very excited about this feature.
Finally, one of the greatest impacts has been our move to online testing. Most students don't get practice typing and using the text features such as highlighting and bolding. Having the classroom computers allows me to have them type written material and prepare them for the online tests.
Thanks again for your wonderful donation. It is so greatly appreciated.”

Low and High End Middle School Reading Materials
Funded Jan 26, 2012Thank you all for the support that you have so generously given. These books have not only helped the struggling readers in my class this year, but will continue to have an impact on the struggling readers that I will get in the future. Every tool that is available to help these kids improve their literacy skills is greatly appreciated. Please continue to fund literacy projects to help get more books into our classrooms.
Thank you again for all your support. The children will see the benefits for years to come. ”

This classroom project was brought to life by Wasserman Foundation and 27 other donors.Accelerated Reading Classroom Library
Funded May 4, 2007I am so excited and grateful to get funding for my classes. Up to this point I have had to go to the library and choose books in order for my children to have access to books. While I will continue to do this, having a classroom library will encourage the children to choose their own books at their reading levels and become more independent readers. The students will get so much out of the books and it will help to increase their reading levels. Thank you and I look forward to having my students participate in the process of thanking you as well”
