Violin Players Bow Their Way to Make Beautiful Music
Funded Feb 10, 2022This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. My students were using old method books that were falling apart. The book that you donated have enabled me to take more new students into my orchestra this year.
My students were very excited to get new bools this year. They were very happy and excited when the package came! They were excited to play the new songs and exercises!
Without donors like you, my orchestra would be much smaller and more students would be on the waiting list to get into orchestra! It will be more fun to teach the orchestra with new method books! Thanks again for your generous donation!”

Funded Oct 14, 2020Thank you for your donation, which enabled us to purchase violin shoulder rest sponges for over 100 students.
Due to budgetary constraints and COVID 19, our school district was unable to distribute shoulder rests with our school district violins this year. Shoulder rests are very important for young violin students. They enable students to hold their violin correctly. They also relieve shoulder pain caused by holding a violin incorrectly. The new shoulder rests arrived just in time for our violin distribution. My returning students were excited to see new shoulder rests for their violins, they were clean and looked different! They were impressed and relieved that they would not experience shoulder pain from holding their violins incorrectly. All of my violin students are grateful for their new shoulder rest sponges. They are continuing to use the sponges and are making great progress.
With the new shoulder rests on hand, I am able to spend more time teaching students how to play the violin and less tome on proper playing position. With violin sponges, the students are able to easily hold their violins in the correct position.
Thank you for your generosity and support,”

Funded May 4, 2019This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. My students were using old method books that were falling apart and outdated. We had some violins sitting in my classroom closet that were unplayable because they needed new strings. The books, strings and miscellaneous parts that you donated have enabled me to use all of my instruments. It has also allowed me to take more new students into my orchestra this year.
My students were very excited to get playable instruments this year! The reeds and the strings helped me use more of my instruments this year. I usually have a long waiting list of students who want to be in orchestra. Your donation helped me shorten that waiting list.
My orchestra is looking forward to using the new method books. They noticed that the "Sound Innovations" book contains some pop tunes that they recognize. My students are looking forward to playing the songs.
Without donors like you, my orchestra would be much smaller and more students would be on the waiting list to get into orchestra! It will be more fun to teach the orchestra with new method books! Thanks again for your generous donation!”

Funded Aug 4, 2016Dear Donor,
This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. We had thirty misused violins sitting in my classroom closet that were unplayable. A violin technician was willing to donate eighty hours of her time to make these violins playable, provided we supplied the strings, parts and bows. The strings, bows and miscellaneous parts that you donated have enabled her to repair the instruments. It also allowed me to take thirty more new students into my orchestra.
My students were very excited to get playable instruments this year! I usually have a waiting list of about 75 students who want to be in orchestra. Your donation helped me shorten that waiting list.
My orchestra (now 107 students strong) is looking forward to playing their Christmas concert with their refurbished instruments. Without donors like you, my orchestra would be much smaller and more students would be on the waiting list to get into orchestra!”

This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. We had thirty misused violins sitting in my classroom closet that were unplayable. A violin technician was willing to donate eighty hours of her time to make these violins playable, provided we supplied the parts. The fine tuners and miscellaneous parts that you donated have enabled her to repair the instruments. It also allowed me to take thirty more new students into my orchestra.

HELP! High Poverty School is in Need of New Trumpets!
Funded Dec 2, 2014Thank you for your donation, which enable us to purchase three new trumpets at Magnolia Elementary school.
Our orchestra needed new trumpets. Some of our trumpets are sixty years old and are in constant need of repair. The new trumpets arrived from woodwind and brasswind in January. The students who were participating in LA OPERA's production of NOAHS FLOOD received the new trumpets and played them for the production. They were impressed and relieved to use trumpets whose valves did not stick. They are continuing to use the new trumpets and are making great progress.
With three new trumpets on hand, I was able to retire one of our old trumpets and send the other two to the repair shop for extensive adjustments. Those two trumpets will return to our school in the fall. Also, having new trumpets allows me more time to teach, since I do not have to spend class time making minor repairs on the old trumpets.
Thanks to your generosity, I will be able to have two more trumpet players in my ensemble in the fall.
Thanks again for your support”
With gratitude,
Mr. Howells
