Science Students Learn Through Personal Experiences

What a generous and timely gift you have afforded my students! Because of your kindness, my students have been presented with an opportunity to use high-end telescope technology for the first time.

We began using the telescopes by first looking at Coronado Island, a part of San Diego that sits on the San Diego Bay, on which Navy aircraft takeoff and land all day. Some of my students have never driven on the Coronado Bridge, much less seen Coronado. With the resolution available through the telescopes, students were able to see military aircraft, aircraft carriers, and much more.

We are currently planning a Friday night telescope watch party, complete with marshmallow roasting, as soon as the evening warms up. The students and their parents are completely stoked about this upcoming event!

We may have a future astronomer on our hands!”
