My students are truly the most incredible students out there. This classroom is a mainstreaming classroom that supports students with Autism and typically developing students. My students abilities range on a scale that cannot be measured, all are developing at different rates. Some students with Autism are nonverbal, high functioning, have sensory disorders. My general education students are admirable for their hard work in this room. The environment can be distracting and overwhelming for the general education population, but they begin to learn and sympathize. I explain my students strengths and weaknesses. Why things occur and why certain students do certain things. They become little teachers, guiding the way for my students with Autism. My students with Autism look forward to the 3 days their friends attend school. They feel supported and loved, which is what this classroom is made of!
