  • Think it, Make it, Share it!

    Funded Aug 7, 2024

Thank you so much for the materials and resources for our students to make innovative and creative projects! The engagement and passion for learning is so different when kids can add lights and motors to their dioramas and presentations. Students are learning how to code, work together, use technology as a tool, and be creative about how their show their learning.

We have used the lights and other outputs most recently for a biography research project, where third graders had to add at least 1 element to their presentation that would enhance it. We had students research an agricultural farmer, Will Allen, and add a motor that showed how he placed a plant into a greenhouse. We also had a group research Edison and add lights to show how his invention changed lives.”

  • Empowering Tools for All

    Funded Aug 2, 2022

Thanks to your amazing contributions, my students have become much more digitally proficient- not just how to use technology as a passive learner, but being active creators. They have been able to use applications and programs in a new way, showing their knowledge and understanding in fun, engaging ways.

These programs have also made it possible for me as an educator to track progress, make instructional adjustmets, and provide feedback. This creates a powerful loop of feedback, adjustment, and reteaching that makes my students feel like they are in charge of their learning.

Thank you for providing us with funds that would otherwise by out of our reach.”

  • Light Up Our World!

    Funded Nov 21, 2023

My students were thrilled to use the electric copper tape, LED lights, and circuit paper to make their own Halloween cards. There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishments when they finally figured out how to make the lights go on and the eyes flashed!

We will also use the materials for other projects, like creating biography dioramas (one us working on making one about Thomas Edison so she can use a lightbulb as part of the project!).

Thank you for supporting our creative thinkers and problem-solvers.”

  • Building Our Future

    Funded Jan 21, 2022

The materials we received have given us all renewed engagement for students and teachers! We are seeing how creative and amazing they are by giving them a chance to explore, tinker, and play. The Keva planks were used during an amazing lesson from our librarian who read The Three Billy Goats Gruff and challenged students to

Build a bridge that would go over water and hold the "goat" ( we only had lions, elephants, and tigers during the testing phase). Thank you for helping us add to our materials and ways to engage our students. These are high quality materials that will last us for a long time. You are helping to build the future generation!”

  • The One and Only

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

Thank you so much for the speedy and amazing support from donors for this project! I am so excited to provide this wonderful book for my students to read in Spanish. We will be able to really understand the text, make connections, ask questions, and discuss the theme of the story.”

  • Learning To-Go!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

My students are excited to have 1-1 devices that can travel home and back. The laptop sleeves from this project will ensure that the Chromebooks are safe and protected so that students can take them home for more time to practice, research, read, and learn. The headphones have also been amazing for students to record their voices, listen to audiobooks, and interact with the district apps and programs. My students feel like their work and effort is important when others support and value them. We appreciate the donations and take pride in taking care of them!”

  • Turn Up the Learning With Flocabulary!

    Funded Feb 15, 2022

Flocabulary is an amazing website that has hip-hop music videos about everything and anything! It was helped my students to become more interested in historical events, parts of speech, and scientific concepts. They really love watching the videos as a class, jamming together, and then taking the quiz together, celebrating our success, progress and even our mistakes! My students feel more confident in understanding challenging concepts thanks to Flocabulary's fun and light spirit, but deep content. We have made this a part of our daily lessons!”

    With gratitude,

  • Let's Get in Formation!

    Funded May 19, 2022

My students have been using their chair pockets every day (even though they came later in the year) to store their things and have easy access to them, like their headphones and reading books. They have also been using the Pens for self-checking their Math work during stations time, which makes them feel independent and empowered in their learning. They have also read some of the books we added to the classroom library which are diverse and engaging for all students. We are so grateful for these amazing, high-quality materials that help us stay focused and feel a sense of belonging to the classroom.”

  • Reading Is a Superpower!

    Funded Dec 29, 2021

My class has been so excited to have the The TOON comic books in our classroom library. It is a collection of 52 books with a wide variety of topics and interests. They have used them to learn more about different topics, including Greek myths, environmental problems, and different cultures.

Comic books are an invitation for creativity, dialogue, plot development, and more!

These TOON books have been very popular during independent reading time and to take home for more reading. I am excited to use the books as examples so that students also write their own comics, illustrating and using them to sequence events in a different way. I am so happy for the donation and look forward to using them more with every group.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Willett

My students spend a lot of time moving around the classroom to work in different groups and with different materials. We need some help organizing our books and having alternative seating choices. Research supports what educators and parents have known for a long time - children need to move and have the ability to choose. The K'Motion stools and the bookcase will be essential as we create a classroom that reflects our energy and creativity! These materials will be used for many generations to come, in a community that craves empowerment and keys to success. We appreciate any help you can give my 3rd Grade superstars!
