As a K12 dance educator and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, I have been incorporating yoga and mindfulness into my classes for the last few years. My students love the integration of movement, fitness, flexibility training, anatomy & kinesiology, as well as meditation. This year, virtual yoga sessions have been a bit hit with my students, and I am anticipating a strong desire for them to want to continue mindfulness practices as they transition back to in-person learning. It was wonderful to see how my students used yoga & mindfulness to better themselves during the pandemic this last year. By supplying my students with new yoga mats, yoga blocks, and foam rollers, they will be able to have a more holistic approach to understanding their bodies and minds as movers, athletes and humans this coming school year.
